An
exceptional program was presented by the Nevada Opera Theatre
and the Myron Heaton Chorale with an Opera Classics Concert.
Featuring famous opera scenes, the Chorale and soloists thrilled
the audience who gave standing ovations to the performers. The
evening included a pre-concert reception. a delicious dinner and
a post concert reception.

Superb
opera singer with a Broadway background, Demetra George, not
only sang exquisitely, but looked lovely in her fashionable
costume changes. Stephen Plummer tenor, Suzanne Vinick, Zeffin
Quinn Hollis, Alisa Thomason, Lance Taubold and Shelly
Martinson, each had wonderful opera classic solos. Frank Fetta,
the principal conductor and music director of the Nevada Opera
Theatre for many years, narrated, conducted and mastered the
piano accompaniment. Dr Myron Heaton conducted his Chorale
singers. Paula Johnson and Lisa Fiorenza were accompanists on
piano and organ.

Although
long, it was a two hour performance, the splendid diversity of
the program and the talented performers captivated the audience.
Eileen
Hayes, founder and general director of the Nevada Opera Theatre
and her staff are to be commended for bringing this wonderful
program to the Las Vegas stage. Bravissimo!

The Nevada
Opera Theatre’s next major production will be “La Traviata” on
Sunday, January 18, 2009. The opera will feature The Nevada
Opera Theatre Artists, Chorus and Orchestra with Frank Fetta
conducting.
