While some stores are actually stocking Christmas items now, it is nice to know that some places still celebrate fall and Halloween. In fact, in October of every year since 2002, Adventuredome at Circus Circus transforms itself into FrightDome at Circus Circus and this year Halloween in Las Vegas began at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3.

The opening weekend festivities included guest appearances by Sid Haig (Captain Spaulding) and Bill Moseley (Otis Driftwood) of Rob Zombie's classics "House of 1,000 Corpses" and "The Devil's Reject." Driftwood also appeared in "Halloween."

When you first walk into FrightDome at Circus Circus, you are engulfed in darkness and smoke. Be prepared for creatures like demons to drop from the sky, chainsaw maniacs to chase you and hear blood curdling screams – probably coming from YOU. Spread throughout five acres, along with high-powered strobes, multi-colored lasers and eerie sound effects are roaming monsters, heart-pounding rides and people just as terrified as you. It is SO MUCH FUN!

This year there are three new haunted houses - HillBilly Hell, Vampire's Bloodfeast and The HEX-MAS Nightmare, complete with falling snow. Other haunted houses include Killer Klowns in 3D and Chainsaw Massacre. I won’t tell you what to expect in these haunted houses (that would take all of the fun out it) but I will tell you that to experience them is an adrenalin rush like none other I have ever experienced before.

Then there are Scare Zones with monsters and super creatures lurking in the dark and an off-the-wall stunt show starring the hosts, Ryan Stock and Amber Lynn Walker, of Discovery Channel Canada's "Guinea Pig," who push human experiences to the extreme.
Other highlights include one of the only female sword-swallowers in the world, Lady Diabla, and her Xtreme Sideshow Circus featuring Stigmata - tattooed from head to toe, performing suspension acts - and Lil' Miss Firefly - one of the world's smallest girls, measuring in at just above two feet. Be prepared for the gore factor but isn’t this what Halloween is all about?

Created by Jason Egan (Jason - what an appropriate name for such a venture), founder and owner of Fright Dome Productions, Fright Dome at Circus Circus pushes the fear envelope a little more each year. We all must love to be frightened since in the past more than 60,000 people have visited FrightDome at Circus Circus. "We're excited to bring Fright Dome back," said Egan, "With 23 rides and attractions, including aerial haunts with 'drop demons,' terrifying premium rides, a haunted 4-D FX theater, haunted ride films and more, this is sure to be our best year ever."

Some of the other rides and attractions include Canyon Blaster, Chaos, Disk’o, Inverter, Slingshot, Elvira’s Superstition and Dracula’s Haunted Castle. You haven’t enjoyed any of them until you ride it in the dark, surrounded by fog, strobe lights and very scary music. That when you will really enjoy them the way Halloween was meant to be enjoyed – Scared s***less!
Fright Dome is open from 7 p.m. – midnight on the following days:
Oct. 10 - 12
Oct. 16 - 19
Oct. 23 - 26
Oct. 29 - 31
Single tickets are $33.95; Fast Pass tickets are an additional $15 and allow express line entry for all five haunted houses. This attraction is not appropriate for children under 12.
