October is National Crime Prevention Month.  According to the National Crime Prevention Council, more than 150 communities nationwide are promoting events in support of this important month.

 

In October, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will provide Southern Nevada residents with several opportunities to learn more about crime prevention and safety.

 

These activities are part of Metro’s year-round, on-going commitment to educate the public about crime prevention.

Come talk with safety experts and LVMPD officers. Visit information booths and listen to informative speeches.

In addition to the above events, each LVMPD area command has its own crime prevention activities. 

 

Some of the on-going services include Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, Crime Prevention Presentations on a variety of topics for both neighborhoods and businesses, Home and Business Security Surveys using Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design strategies, and Neighborhood and Business Safety Meetings
