L.J. Update

LJ at 15 months

Well, another three months have passed and I thought it was about time I gave you an update on my new buddy, LJ.  He’s pretty much full grown and, due to a change in his diet he’s gained a few extra pounds.  For some reason, the diet I had him on (same as Jordan’s) gave him terrible gas.  Oops!  His vet, Dr. Kristine Ziegler at Sahara Pines said that gas is a byproduct of diet and nothing else.  The diet changed, the gas has stopped but no I’ve got to regulate meal sizes and get him back down a few pounds.

As for obedience and other behavioral issues?  Surprisingly few.  Labs (as with Jordan) are notorious for being chewers and diggers up to the “terrible twos.”  Jordan stopped at 2 ½ but LJ stopped all of it at 11 ½ months.

About the only issue I have with him is that he still will jump up on other adults and he is reluctant to jump up in the car in the morning to come to work.  But, these are issues that will be corrected in time and I’m just so blessed that he in my life and such a wonderful companion.  He’s laying next to me write now as I write this at my workstation in the Weather Center.

Thanks, as always for your willingness to bring us into your hearts and homes each day!

God Bless,

John
