The Boo Party

The Halloween decorations at the Rae home are legendary, we had heard. That is Bob and Doralee (Lady Pink) Rae. They are relatively new in Las Vegas. I got lucky and met Lady Pink in the ladies room at the WSOP, 2007. She is memorable in any poker tournament. She always wears a pink cowboy hat, pink boots and pink here and there in between.

When I was invited to her Boo Party/Poker Tournament, I was delighted. Everything I had imagined was multiplied by a hundred. Macy's nor a party shop could have outdone her Halloween decor. I honestly have never seen anything like it. From the front of her house, through the courtyard, the inside of the house, including bathrooms, there were spooks, mummys, goblins, ghosts, skeletons, skulls, pumpkins, black cats, lighted cob webs, spiders, and witches (and a bunch of bitches) in attendance! Not to mention lots of witches brew. Things moved, groaned, screamed and one witch was on a swing and went to swinging and kicking her legs at any sound. Another crowd favorite was the black cat. It appeared to be a sweet little stuffed cat, but I believe it was possessed. If you pressed it's paw, it started meowing and meowing and then it would go berserk and start a Satanist meow scream and it's head turned around and around like the Exorcist. Dinner was served on Halloween china (I didn't know they even made Halloween china!) We ate, we drank, we got silly, and we played poker. We decided to turn the poker game into a satellite for a Venetian tournament so we could all have a little piece of the action. Rowena, who is a great dealer and will in fact, be dealing the Venetian Deep Stacks, dealt for us. We often pass the deal but Ro is so professional and moves our game along so smoothly. (Thank you Ro-Ro!) And thank you Lady Pink; YOU are remarkable! She really is remarkable. She has made a pirate outfit appropriate for Lady Pink, complete with pink boa feather trim on her pirates hat and a matching eye-patch. To add that final elegant pirate touch for a lady of the pink, leader of the "Pink" band of pirates, she made a "Lady Pink" medailion in rhinestones that is on her pirate hat. A good time was had by all and oh yes, I won the tournament!

We just got word that the black cat is missing. Doralee thinks he may have been abducted! He was scary but in a little black cat cute kind of way. If you happen to see a little black cat who turns into a red-eyed cat devil, I understand that there is a reward.
