He Smiled On Me

If this day I've caused a smile,
Or reached to teach a little child,
I'll thank the Lord.
He smiled on me...
 
If some grief I've helped to end,

Or of an enemy made a friend,
I'll thank the Lord.
He smiled on me...
 
If seeing death, I've eased its pain,
Or reached a needy hand again,
I'll thank the Lord.
He smiled on me...
 
If in my life these deeds run through
To offer love, - and please God, too -
I'll thank the Lord.
He smiled on me...
