What’s crazy is that their sound wouldn’t grab you as being “west coast”. Their flava is a mixture of the south, the Midwest, and of course the west, but their style is very versatile and marketable. The 1st leaked single, off their 2009 projected album release, is “Check My Swag”. The single is produced by Dj Vudu Spellz, Grammy certified platinum producer for Ludacris, Chingy, R.Kelly, Jamie Foxx, Shawnna, Reuben Studdard, and others. “Check My Swag” is a song that everyone who is a starving artist, no matter what genre, can relate to. The song, in a nut shell, says to everyone: “Check out my style and the way I do what I do. I believe in myself, I’m real, I know where I’ve come from; where I’m going, and I’m gonna make my dreams come true with or without a record deal or your support”. There are so many people that can relate to this. Not only artists but hard working people who have a dream of any proportion.
The union of these great talents was brought together by Track Kingz West CEO David Givens. Dave and the Track Kingz have done some previous work for Greaz last album and he saw some great potential in this new group effort. Vudu came in and submitted some tracks for the group, built a great relationship with their manager as well, and the rest was just magic. Dj Vudu Spellz premiered the song on Power 88 Labor Day in his live mix, along with “All Over Town” Chris Brown and DJ Thump, and the phone lines went crazy. Ever since there were over a hundred calls, in a 5 day period, with requests for the song and inquisitive listeners asking for more info about the song and where they could purchase it. The fire was officially lit and after the buzz grew Dj Benzo (program manager for power 88) personally wanted the record, and when Benzo calls someone personally for a song it’s like Dr. Dre calling you about an artist he needs to hear that you have.
I see a very bright future for this group. I’ve heard many other sneak peak tracks off the album and this group is definitely not a one hit wonder. They have at least 4 more singles that I was sworn not to leak and a follow up joint that is crazy. Las Vegas should be proud of this home grown group and embrace them now with love and respect before they blow and not wait till after they blow to show them love. There is no excuse for every radio station in their market to not support this record just like a Jay Z or a Soulja Boy because this group will soon be on that level and support and love for your local talent is very important. 702 and Neyo are Vegas natives and they also need to feel that love so they can also reach back and invest in the very under rated talent that’s right in here in Las Vegas. Look out for the UG’Z. They’re coming and their closer than you think!

a star is born but in Vegas they shine the brightest. Excel, Dojia, and
Big Greaz form the new super group UG’Z. These Vegas natives are three
strong solo artists who have been very dominant in the local and west
coast underground music scene for many years. As solo artists they’ve
all released independent projects and have done many shows with major
artists like Too Short and Fat Joe, just to name a few. As individuals
they’ve learned discipline and the value of hard work. Now as seasoned
artists they’ve come together to form the most innovative new group from
the west coast to look out for.
