Inputs, Out Takes, and Updates

Update: Tex the Ghost is (not) alive and well, but he is still in residence in my friend's home. (Click HERE for details) After hearing the story, I nagged her to look further for a back-story as to why Tex is hanging around. This is her latest report: "I found out that a "Smith" [Smith is my friend's last name - I believe I can safely say that without revealing her identity] family lived in the house two families before me. How strange is that!? We located the realtor who sold the house for the last family who lived there and she told me that they moved because of the noises and unsettling feelings. I got goose bumps when I heard that because I knew exactly what they meant. We are continuing our research to find out more about the "Smith" family. I will keep you posted."
I don't know about you but I can't wait for the next update!
Out Take: I am still hot about the Scotty Nguyen episode (Click HERE for details) but decided to wait to give you an update.
Input:
I am getting ready to hit the road for some great ladies poker tournament
action. I like
to play with men also, but it is more pleasant with the gals. A
ladies event is almost always an upbeat and positive experience. First up is the
California State Ladies Championship
at Ocean's 11 Casino in beautiful Oceanside, CA, for a fun weekend.
There are always extra activities planned for the ladies. Last year, a highlight
was the talent show and it will be back by popular request. There are parties,
satellites, and one tag-team event. At the "Meet and Greet" Party on Thursday
night, Sept 18, the "Queens of Poker", Barbara Enright, Linda Johnson, Marsha
Waggoner, and yours truly will be meeting, greeting, discussing poker, and
answering your questions. I did not name us that, they did! However, to be
honest, to be considered Royalty for an evening is okay by me! Dates: Sept.
18-21.

Next up is the Ladies State of NV
Championship of Poker at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. I love to
go to Reno and I haven't been in awhile so I am really looking forward to this
trip. The tournament begins on Sept 25 and continues until the final event which
is the Ladies No-Limit on Oct. 5. I love the schedule which includes a variety
of games including a $400 buy-in HORSE event. Go to
www.grandsierraresort.com, then to Poker for the full schedule. I'll have a
full report after my visit Oct. 4-6, Hope to see you there!
In Nov. it is Pendleton! The Fall Poker
Round-up begins Wed. Nov. 5 and continues through Sunday, Nov. 16. I
will be there for the entirety. This is one of my favorite stops on my
tournament trail and not just because the Wildhorse adds so much money to each
tournament. This fall, a total of $78,000 will be added! That is not a typo.
From $1,000 to $10,000 is added to each event. I know players who travel
thousands of miles for this overlay. The Wildhorse is also known for having the
lowest entry fees in the world. Here again, Tournament Director Roland Waters
has a terrific tournament schedule with a variety of games. Prior to the ladies
event, Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher will be giving a FREE seminar AND another
added attraction for the ladies is that the winner will also receive an
eight-day Caribbean Cruise! Make your reservations early. Even if you miss a
room on property, there are a lot of motels in close proximity and the shuttle
service is terrific. Don't miss downtown Pendleton - it is like stepping back
into the 50's and if you're not old enough to remember, watch an old return of
the Andy Griffin show and take a look at Mayberry!
