The
Real Estate Division announced today it has summarily suspended the license of
Henderson-based real estate salesperson John C. Miller, based on its
investigation which determined that Mr. Miller used
his status as a real estate salesperson to gain access into homes and commit
larceny. The suspension prohibits Mr. Miller from doing business as a real
estate salesperson and is effective immediately.
The Division received complaints that Mr. Miller was allegedly committing larceny while purporting to show homes for sale. After being arrested by the Henderson police, Mr. Miller pled guilty to Attempted Grand Larceny on August 12, 2008, in connection with one of the complaints received by the Division. Mr. Miller is scheduled to be sentenced on the criminal charge on October 7, 2008.
“It was imperative that we act as quickly as possible to protect Nevada homeowners,” said Real Estate Administrator Ann M. McDermott. “Mr. Miller’s ability to continue to gain access to homes as a holder of a license issued by the Division posed a definite risk to the safety of the people of Nevada, which is why we have suspended his license.”
