Vegas Community Online receives lots of e-mails from our members, readers and more, and we appreciate each and every one we receive.

One of my favorites to date is a e-mail we received last week. It seems one of our readers sent out our website address to friends around the country to get their opinions of the VCO website. Granted, it was not all good but on the most part we received some very favorable feedback.

We’d like to thank the reader (she wishes to remain anonymous) for her initiative and appreciate her and her friend's thoughts and ideas. We encourage any ideas and input to help make our website even better.

Thank you,

Marleen Carol Marino

Took a look at the web page and found it both appealing to the eye, easy to navigate and loaded with information.

First of all, the easiest I have EVER visited. I loved it. It gives me everything about Vegas. Who ever did it, great job. And I am hard on web sites as they make you chase to find what you need

Very interesting, informative and easy to work with.  Everything seems to work and work fast, no matter what I click on.  Very enjoyable and happy to read these items under discussion.

Looks interesting and well designed.

I'm not sure "Vegans" work. Doesn't that imply vegetable only eaters? Wow, this site is loaded with STUFF. Plenty of information; was not sure how the contest winners were decided. Liked seeing information about some of the shows. Not sure ALL the shows were listed. Question the brick wall background. Same always reminds me of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Would think there'd be something else more appropriate - sand, water from swimming pool, neon. Bored by the Jewish video, turned it off. Liked the "stars" video, anxious to see who was next. Very informative but not sure I would go to it daily. Maybe include weather, stock market status, sports scores, news highlights.

I am not a Vegas aficionado so I do not have much insight regarding content. However, like Vegas itself, the site is heavy with sensory overload. There is way too much stuff on the page - too many links, banners, etc. Personally, I prefer much cleaner designs. However, there are a lot of pages like this out there for communities, clubs, etc. Some folks probably like it.

Well, it looks like a well put together website with lots of features and community resources. There is also a lot of advertising. I suppose that pays for the site.

As far as the website, there is some very interesting information.  I have spent about 20 or 30 minutes looking around the website.  It looks like there is some useful information.  I looked at almost every area.  I liked the health and wellness and Vegas Community Online sections.  I also read a couple of the stories (The Motherless Daughter).  Overall I enjoyed looking over the website.  Let me know if you need any more information.

Okay … checked out the website this morning and thought it was an interesting extension of information directed towards our local Las Vegas community as well as Nevada issues too!  From the local news to the forum … interesting and informative!  Easy to navigate and user friendly. Next question - did I sign up as a member … nope!  Would I consider signing up as a member … nope!

Took a look at the website & it seemed really informative.  I clicked on helpful info & it gave all the municipal info as well as phone #'s. Plus it's free.  Seems reasonable.

The look of the website is relatively basic, but that is a good thing most of the time as it is easier to navigate your way through it. The goal of most, if not all, websites is to keep bringing you back. The "video of the day" is a good idea as well as the weekly prize winners.  As far as the concept of the website -- about Las Vegas and directed toward Las Vegans, if I were a Las Vegan checking it out I would want more info about community events instead of casino happenings. I also understand that the casinos are the ones paying the bills for the website, but I think more local everyday info is warranted.

Wow...a very complete, well thought out and executed web site. Very impressive

Wow. It's very comprehensive. Lots of different topics. Something for everyone. Giveaways are great. I'm not crazy about the brick wall background. Not too Vegasy. I'll send it to James too for his input. He's very insightful.

It looks like a website designed to get lots of advertising. I don't see anything in it that I don't see of other sites for LV.It seems very cluttered with lots of "stuff"

The quality of type/print I thought to be mediocre...My feeling is that this is a site that they would like to direct locals to....a bit misleading because theirs lots of tourism as well

(Julie)

I think this site is a very good tool for those living in Vegas. I like it.

(Diane)

It appears to have much information about Las Vegas. I will probably add it to my fav's and check it out occasionally. It is a free site which makes it even more attractive.

Seems real homey and if I lived in Vegas I would check it out frequently.  I like their local artist link. (get more ART/ART visual arts vs. the perf. arts people in the casinos.

This site offers lots of info for residents and tourists.  The home page is a little dark and busy, busy.  I visited each page but was disappointed after reading the (Rich) Little page as I thought he was writing a commentary not a biography!  The page listing local, less famous talent was informative. As to the ads, I liked that their placement, along the sides of the page.  They were less intrusive than those large flashing things that show up on other sites.  But I did notice them

The film on Bette Midler is so-so even though I like her.  There were a couple other people that I thought were cheesy.

REGARDING THE LAS VEGAS WEBSITE. I FOUND IT TO BE INFORMATIVE AND TOUCHED UPON MANY SUBJECTS. THE DOWN SIDE FOR ME WAS INCLUDING TOO MUCH INFORMATION MAKING FOR A LENGTHY READ,  TOO MANY  ICONS GIVING THE APPEARANCE OF CLUTTER, CONTEST RESULTS COULD BE STREAMLINED, AND IT APPEARS THAT LITTLE INFORMATION IS PROVIDED REGARDING KID ACTIVITIES. I DO NOT THINK ANYTHING NEEDS TO BE ELIMINATED, BUT BETTER ORGANIZATION OF NOTED INFORMATION COULD LEAD TO A USER FRIENDLY WEBSITE

We appreciate all input, and agree with one suggestion from Fred, he states: "Very informative but not sure I would go to it daily. Maybe include weather, stock market status, sports scores, news highlights.

Well Fred, we do display the "weather" and a clock on our main pages and many more, also on our homepage we have a link to "sport scores" and a "news link" to our community partner KNUU (Formally KNEWS radio.) We are missing a stock ticker however, and thank you for pointing that out. We hope to add a one to the VCO website soon.

Thanks Fred for your suggestion!
