Loving your neighbors - or your enemies, for that matter - has nothing at all to do with morals or ethics. Rather, Kabbalah teaches that love is a formidable weapon in furthering your own cause in life, which is simply to gain true joy and fulfillment.
In other words, you benefit when you love others unconditionally.
Today, open your heart when you feel it closing. Loosen the chains and learn to love.
We've all had experiences where we gave our all in a romantic or business relationship, only to get BURNED! "What a waste!" we might think. But according to Kabbalah, our efforts empower a force from above that brings that right person or deal into our lives.
Energy is never wasted.
Today, be willing to go for it, whatever "it" may be.
Many times in life we witness
things that appear unfair. However, usually it’s just a test of our certainty.
That’s why when we restrict jumping to conclusions - our entire outlook opens
up.
Today, when things go against your wishes, be humble for a minute. Assume you
don’t really know what’s going on by virtue of the fact that you’re trapped
within your five senses. Therefore it’s impossible to see the entire picture.
Not only will you become much wiser, but the Light will inject you with the
explanation of what you’ve just witnessed. That injection may happen on the
spot, in five minutes, in five days, in five years. But rest assured it'll
happen when it needs to happen.
I know the word sharing gets thrown around in these emails quite a bit. Sometimes we become numb to the word. To get back to basics, sharing means giving something of ourselves.
It can be sharing with someone we're not used to sharing with. It can be opening up with someone we're not used to opening up to. It can be calling someone with whom we're holding a grudge and wishing them well and saying something nice, some words of wisdom. It can be anything. It just has to be an unconditional stretch.
Do one unusual act of sharing today.
The Zohar teaches us desire is a vessel that holds the Light. The idea is attaining blessings and good fortune is not enough to keep them. We must also maintain our desire for what we already have.
Not always an easy thing to do seeing as how our habit is to focus on what we don't have.
Today, get in touch with the desire you first felt when you started studying Kabbalah, or dating your husband, or working at your dream job. Crave your life!
As difficult as dirty dishes can be, they're even worse when you let them sit for a while. And the longer they sit, the harder they are to clean.
This is life. Something that is potentially easy to clean up right after it happens - an unkind word to your father, a lie to your best friend, an insensitivity to your girlfriend - can become a difficult mess if you don't deal with it now.
Do the dishes today.
Digging down on yesterday's mirror concept, I know it can be a confusing lesson to apply because what happens, for example, if you see someone stealing in the market (and it makes you angry.) Is that the Light showing you that you're a thief? If not, then what?
Let's look at it from a different angle. Here's a simple exercise for today. Make a list with three columns:
Column 1: Write an incident you witnessed or were involved in that provoked a reaction inside of you.
Column 2: Describe how you felt about it.
Column 3: What possible reasons did the person have for doing what he did?
Write down at least ten incidents. Using the example above, maybe the robber was abused as a child. Maybe he was hungry. Maybe he was just selfish. Go for any possible cause. By the tenth example, you will begin to get clarity on the things YOU need to work on.
