The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada is proud to announce the recipients of the Nevada Athena Leadership Award, The Athena Young Professional Award, and the Women in Performing Arts, Entertainment and Media Award on Friday, December 11, 2009, from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cili Restaurant at Bali Hai Golf Club.
The Recipients are: The Athena Leadership Award recipient, Debra Nelson, Vice President of Corporate Diversity, Communications and Community Affairs for the MGM Mirage; the recipient for the Athena Young Professional Award is Marissa Hawkins, owner of Facelogic Spa and
Massage Envy; and, the recipient of the Women In Performing Arts, Entertainment and Media Award is Melanie, morning on-air talent of “Melanie and Michael in the Morning” for radio station 106.5 FM. Each of these exceptional women will receive their awards on December 11, 2009.
This year will be the 6th year for the Chamber to present the elite International Athena Award and the 3rd year for the Young Professional Award. A new addition to the awards will be the Women in Performing Arts Entertainment and Media Award. All three of these categories are leadership awards in which each woman will be recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to their profession, to their community and to other women through mentoring and support. The Athena Awards started 26 years ago and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada is the only authorized presenter of the awards in our state.
