ANOTHER YEAR IS drawing to a close. Thanksgiving is upon us; our last event for 2009 will be the December 4th Holiday Party. This year we are partnering with BMW Motorcycle located at 6675 South Tenaya Way Ste. 200 in Las Vegas (just off the I215 at Rainbow) for a fabulous event. All attendees must bring a new unwrapped child’s toy for free admittance. Food, drinks and entertainment are on tap for all who attend.

2009 has been a challenge for everyone we know, and the Chamber is no exception. We have seen several businesses close their doors, more move to home offices and a downturn in member attendance at the events. The challenges of keeping things going in this economy have been interesting to say the least. We hate to see any member cancel their membership for financial reasons, or lose their dreams of owning their own business and being successful and we have seen a lot of both of these in 2009. We look forward to a much stronger 2010.

Many of you may not know that we have completely revamped the website and the new name is www.sincitychamber.com Many thanks go to Arlene Bates at AMB Web Design for all of her efforts to clean up the old site and convert everything into a new and improved program. Arlene continues to work with us for all the updates to the site.

We also have brought Helen Feng from CMIT Solutions on board to host our e-mails. All the e-mail addresses at Sin City Chamber has been shortened to the new version, for instance, Wayne@sincitychamber.com or Loretta@sincitychamber.com We had hoped to do this long ago but weren’t able to secure the domain name until last summer.

Jonathan Remund from Bizwala continues to host the website and event though he has moved to Hilo, Hawaii and is running his business from there. He did attend our last mixer at Crowbar and it was great to see him again.

Speaking of Crowbar, we had a great turnout and collected over $800 in food items that were donated to St. Therese Center Food Bank.

The 2010 Chicken Ranch Experience is in full swing. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 15th this year; the Golf Tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. followed at noon with the opening of the Experience. Lots of fun and excitement are on tap for this year and we look forward to seeing many of you for this event. Golf teams may register now; we already have 5 teams enrolled. One last bit of info, we are running a membership special for any friends of chamber members that would like to join. Two months free, now till the end of the year and the new memberships will run from January 1 to December 31st next year for anyone joining between now and December. Please pass this along to anyone you might know who would be interested.
