Ensign: CBO Says Democrat Health Bill Will Raise Insurance Premiums For Some Americans
November 30, 2009 – Washington, D.C. – Senator John Ensign today released the following statement in response to a Congressional Budget Office report that some Americans will face an increase in their insurance premiums under the Democrat healthcare bill:
“The argument for healthcare reform is that we need to make health care more accessible and affordable for Americans,” said Ensign. “And yet, the Democrat’s have drafted a bill that will increase the tax burden on American families, will eliminate choice and will, according to this CBO report, increase insurance premiums for many Americans. This is simply unacceptable. It is unacceptable to pass a healthcare bill that will destroy health care in America and make it even less affordable for cash-strapped American families.”
