The Greek Village
A few weeks ago, I received the following email from my friend,
Linda Johnson.
I
am trying to help a friend of mine to save his business and the more people I
can tell, the better chance he has.
With the economy in such a bad way, most businesses are suffering. My good
friend Johnny and his new Greek restaurant are hurting and are now only open for
dinner. He's making a special offer to friends of Jan and me... just mention our
names and you will get 10% off your meals and free soft drinks or coffee/tea.
His food is great... it’s Mediterranean and the prices are very reasonable. If
you’re looking for a great night out in a restaurant with good service and
fabulous ambiance, please check it out. The restaurant is on Eastern a little
bit south of Serene in a strip shopping mall.

Thanks in advance for patronizing his restaurant. He also does great catering so
if you’re looking for that, he’s your man. He will cater in any style of meal…
he's done my Thanksgiving in the past and it was awesome! He also caters the
annual Lederer WSOP party and has done this gig for as long as I can remember.
Many poker players including Peter Kosta and Jon Friedberg eat there often. I
highly recommend it. Thanks for giving it a thought!

Within a
few days I visited Johnny's restaurant with a friend. It was great and I
remembered Johnny from various poker rooms over the years. He started out as a
poker dealer, became a player, a good player and realized his dream of opening a
restaurant after a huge World Series win. Not a bracelet, but second.

I had an idea, rather than poker players visiting here and there and discovering
the Greek Village, how about if we had a sort of poker player's reunion all on
one night. Linda liked the idea and we were off and running. We had short notice
as Linda was leaving for Asia within just four days. We gathered about 40 poker
players and had a great time at the Greek Village. We got to visit and at the
same time, we all assured Johnny a good night of business. This also introduced
many to his place and I hope they will spread the word.

Tom McEvoy has a new look and a new lady, Yolanda. Does one have to do with the
other? You betcha. She gave him a "man make-over" for his birthday.
If you live in Vegas, give it a try, if not, give it a try on your next visit
and tell Johnny, Susie said, Hi.
