Something Of Substance

I ate the cake
I love that stuff
I ate the ice cream
it wasn't enough
I ate more junk food
It didn't fill me up
I needed something with substance

I like the chiffon
But, like silk, it's to thin
To protect this body
From the harshness of the wind
I need something with substance

I watched TV
I listened to lies
Nothing said or done
Got past my watchful eyes
I was looking for something with substance

I've found something
That fills me up
I've found something
That keeps me warm
I've found a haven
Safe from the storm
Lord I've found my substance

FATHER IT IS YOU
