Report on Chamber Business

Economy:
As we head further into 2009, we are meeting more challenges along the way, but as we head through this journey, we have found positive ways to uplift the small businesses in Nevada. The Women's Chamber has its own challenges as a non-profit; we drive on helping women whatever level of career or business, by offering: Mentoring, business education, local, State and National resources, marketing, branding, and major networking (free). WCCNV does not stop there, we work with all chambers in the state of Nevada along with our Government Affairs Committee to help all the small businesses with legislation issues effecting small business and of course our Women's Community Outreach Program.

The Women's Chamber

As most of you know, I established the Chamber in 2002, to help young students, professionals and women business owners like myself. With over 50 years of experience in a talent career and as a woman business owner, along with 42 years of charity work (while building a career and business) it was easy to help others. By accomplishing all my dreams first, the experiences acquired along the way, now I am in a position to give back and help women in Nevada.

Our main concern right now

Downsize
Is to keep cost down making sure we do not raise our rates and continue offering more services to help our members build their business and stay in business. By downsizing the chamber's old office, we can offer more free services and events to help our members and keep our Women's Community Outreach Program going.

By changing how we do our day-to-day business to enhance your membership in the only Women's State Trade Organization.

How are we doing this?

Executive SuiteOur new executive look, new image, Executive Suite situation, where several people share a receptionist, who will answer all our calls and make appointments for us and a central location that our members can pick up or drop off materials 9am to 5pm M-F (which we do not have right now). Getting the Chamber away from an old expensive traditional style office into an economical high-end style.  We will also have three different size meeting rooms and an educational classroom with desks (which we do not have now) available to us, and most important more centralized for you.

Women's Community Outreach Program

Community Outreach ProgramSome of our new members asked what the Women's Outreach Program is; The Outreach Program started 3 years ago to help women in our community to get the services and help they need. We accept calls from any women in our community that needs help. It started when a woman called and needed our help with her house, food, and money because her husband walked out on her and the three children in a brand new home and she had no job and no one to turn to, that is how it all started. Now we have acquired all the different contacts that any caller will need from WIC to housing, to medical attention, battered women etc. this is very important to have this service available to women in our community and it is even more important to the Women's Chamber to be able to help these women with emergencies. This is our way of giving back to women in our community, its a great feeling.
