We are 5-0. We are in first place. We have the best record of all the teams.

We understand it is still early and we are not pounding our chests or celebrating. However, thanks to your hard work, dedication, and commitment, we are off to a simply BLAZING START.
Saturday: Summerlin Arbors 4 DTC #2 1
Results:
#1 Singles/Summerlin Arbors Rocket Rick defeats Joe Lin 7-5, 3-6, l-0. It was a fantastic match. Rocket zoomed to a 4-l lead in the first set. Joe came storming back to make it 5-5. Rocket prevailed in the first set. Joe won the second set, making it a very exciting l0 point tie-breaker. The ROCKET dominated big time. Both players were simply brilliant. Some of the points took so long that I was able to go for a mile run, and when I returned, the point was still in progress. The ROCKET won by playing the BIG POINTS like a champion.
#2 Singles/DTC #2 Vlaimir Longo defeated Double "K" 7-5, 2-6, l-0. It was a really tough loss for Double "K" because he played at a very high level. In the first set Double "K" actually had a set point. Double "K" was on fire in the second set. He wound up losing a heartbraker in the tie-breaker. Excellent effort!
#1 Dubs/Summerlin Arbors Van Goh/Driller Dan defeated Larry Malinowski/Darrin Yates 6-3, 6-3. Van Goh, in two years, is STILL UNDEFEATED in dubs, and Driller Dan really excelled on the court with his brand new STICK! Dan, simply a superb effort. Great teamwork and camaraderie and shot making. Van Goh is one of a few players who have the WOW factor.
#2 Dubs/Summerlin Arbors Double "A"/Chico SUAVE defeat Shaun Mahoney/Mmmmoooooo Silva 6-3, 6-2. Our guys work so well together. Double "A's" southpaw serves really had his opponents confused. SUAVE played the forehand side like Federer. These guys look like magicians on the court.
#3 Dubs/Summerlin Arbors "Rippin Rey"/Pit Bull Bill defeat Steve Ceregino/Nick Rohaly 6-0 (Bagel and Cream Cheese), 6-4. Rippin Rey calls the Pit Bull Bill his IDOL. Why? Pit Bull Bill is a GREAT dubs player. They play a truly aggressive, in your face style of dubs. After their victory, the BRYAN BROTHERS called to set up a challenge match. I am betting on a victory for Rippin Rey/Pit Bull Bill. Oh, by the way, Rippin' Rey has not lost a DUBS match last year or this year.
MegaMATCH next week vs. Spanish Trail. They are 4-1.
Match is at Spanish Trail at l0 a.m.
Thanks to our team weatherman at Channel 3, Kevin Janison, for his accurate weather report. He was right on. NO RAIN for our match.
Guys our first mission is District Playoffs in late June in the l20 degree HEAT. Let's keep the positive MO going.
On another note:
I
want to salute Boris Becker II on our team.
Boris Becker I was always one of my favorite tennis players.
He played with such enthusiasm and passion and watching him play at WIMBLEDON on the grass was simply exhilarating.
Who would know that years after Boris Becker I retired, our team would have the reincarnation of Boris Becker II on our team: VAN GOH
From the minute I met Irwan Goh, I loved and adored him. He is a total gentleman. A talented dentist. A great husband. An amazing athlete. A wonderful dad.
It is so much fun to watch Van Goh play tennis. His razor like focus and enthusiasm and will to win are simply contagious.
In yesterday's big match, when it was tied 2-2, everyone from both teams had their eyes riveted on the nail biter ending.
At least four times, Van Goh went diving on the hardcourt to try to make a shot, sacrificing his body in the process.
He drew blood!!!! He looked like a "ground and pound" UFC warrior at the end of the match.
Someone forgot to tell Van Goh that he was NOT playing on GRASS.
His determination and guts yesterday were simply wondrous to watch. Of course his partner Rocket Rick is the perfect combo for Van Goh. These guys truly
rocked the house.
I must state unequivocally that I have never witnessed a player dive, tumble and somersault on the concrete like Van Goh. He did whatever was necessary to
WIN.
I salute Van Goh for his superlative efforts, as well as our entire team.
Next match: At Sports Club/Next Saturday/5 matches at 11:30 a.m.
One final thought. When I was watching Van Goh play, I thought he could have been a Gymnastics star at the Olympics. I give him a perfect l0.
