Sad news as Reason showed signs of colic on Sunday morning and was quickly brought into the clinic. Unfortunately she was suffering from a small intestine or stomach colic and although we treated her with IV fluids, she had to be euthanized late at 2 am on Monday morning. Colics that involve the small intestine or stomach are very painful and the hardest to treat with the most guarded prognosis. It's possible there was a stone or a growth as Reason coliced last year as well.
Our thoughts go out to Shiloh Family Member, Tanya, who had been leasing Reason. They made a perfect pair and were often see heading out on trail or hanging out together in the Mare Motel while Reason ate her extra feed. Thank you for loving Reason so much, Tanya, you helped to make her life better. You loved her, and we know that Reason loved you...
Journey enjoying her breakfast this morning...
Our new City Center shelter- look how awesome it is!
Sheriff, the Mule, enjoys the shade. It is so much cooler under there. The Wanderers are often seen hanging out here now...
The guys are painting it red to match the rest of the shelters.
The Big Pasture this morning.
It is so nice to return from our trip and see all of the horses again. Everyone looks great and Felipe, who was in charge, did a wonderful job. It's great to be home!
