Imperial Palace’s Imperial Luau

Las Vegas has the one of the largest populations on the mainland of people from the Pacific Islands with their wonderful traditions and cuisine.  An annual tradition in its 18th year, The Imperial Palace’s Imperial Luau celebrates the Pacific Islands with food, fun and entertainment designed to transport you from Las Vegas to the Pacific Islands at the Shangri-la pool every Tuesday and Saturday through September 29.

Guests are first treated to an all-you-can-eat experience.  The island-themed cuisine features roasted pig, barbecue chicken, shrimp, salmon, an extensive dessert bar including upside pineapple cake and key lime pie and many other island favorites. For vegetarians, there is an array of salads, vegetables, fruits, and side dishes. Non-alcoholic drinks are available and standard and call-brand cocktails may be purchased at the Shangri-La Pool Bar.

When the sun sets, a cast of ten native island beauties begin the traditional Hawaiian luau. And ladies, there are some very good-looking guys as well.  Songs, fire-twirling, dance and music are just part of the show celebrating all of the South Pacific Islands (including Hawaii, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa) today, their history and their people. The Shangri-la pool is surrounded by guest room towers and it is interesting to see the guests come on their balconies to watch the fun below.  During the luau, you feel you are secluded from the rest of the world, but it can get windy so be prepared.  However, this just adds to the feeling of being in a tropical paradise.  All that is missing is the sand beneath your feet.

Tickets to the Imperial Luau are $49.95 (plus tax & fees) for general admission (includes all-you-can-eat buffet, a souvenir Imperial Palace pagoda cup and unlimited specialty cocktails) and $59.95 (plus tax & fees) for VIP admission (includes preferred seating, all-you-can-eat buffet, a fresh flower lei, souvenir cup, plus hosted bar including draft beer, house wine, well drinks, and specialty Luau cocktails).
