These mares were rescued in 2007 off of the Fallon, NV feedlot before the slaughter trucks arrived. They were heavily pregnant at the time of their rescues and had their foals in safety at Shiloh.

These mares ARE NOT halterbroke, they were pasture kept and bred. They are all nice big boned mares, sound and healthy, but untrained. They need special experienced homes where they can get the attention they deserve. With time and patience, they can be made into nice horses. We have placed similar mares into homes in the past, some are currently being ridden and doing well. We just do not have the extra time to work with them like they need.

Many of them will now take carrots out of a hand, but they are NOT for inexperienced people!

They get along great with other horses.

Please email us at shilohhorse@aol.com if you are interested in giving any of these needy mares a new home.
