“You Guys Utilize Facebook Better then Any Other Non-Profit Out There!
 Carol Mittwede, Las Vegas Artist

Hello, my name is Angela, and I am a Facebook addict.  Aren’t you?  When you work for an amazing company like Transition Services, at a totally amazing place like Studio 8 Ten, it’s easy to get involved in the positive marketing aspects of social networking and spend hours upon hours of each day coming up with new, better ways to make it work for us.  About 6 months ago, we built a group page to help us better connect with our following, keep them updated on the events we hold, and, as of recently, offer promotions, giveaways, and opportunities just to the members of our group.  We call this getting “Face to Face(book)”.

During the month of July, we will be hosting 25 artists, most from Las Vegas, and a few from places like California, Florida, Colorado, and Minnesota; all are members of our Facebook group.  Each artist will submit one stunning work to have on display.  Some of the noteworthy local talents include Danny Roberts, Lincoln Maynard, Mark Zeilman, Dray, and Laura Zollar.  This show represents the diversity that encompasses our Facebook group, as well as the things that draw people to us…our passion for art, creativity, and bringing people of all abilities and backgrounds together to celebrate, socialize, and have meaningful life experiences in our community.

As with all of our events, our goal, besides to have a great time, is to bring people into Studio 8 Ten to share the talents of the artists and craftspeople with disabilities who find meaningful employment each day in the hip, urban environment that is Studio 8 Ten.  Our guest artist program is designed to provide a place for artists to display their work, and share their talents in the form of workshops with the individuals at the studio.  Having a unique, multi-artist event, like our 25-artist “Face to Face(book) Art Show” allows us an even bigger opportunity to bring our community into the lives of the artists at Studio 8 Ten, to interact and engage in positive experiences.

The “Face to Face(book) Art Show” will begin on July 3rd, with a casual First Friday display until 9PM.  On Friday, July 17th we will host an artist reception from 6-8PM with complimentary catered appetizers, wine, music, and art.  This event is free, family- friendly, and open to the public.  We appreciate any assistance from the media to spread the word, about this event, and Studio 8 Ten in general.   Please contact me for more information at 644-9418, or email amesler@hotmail.com.
