Summerlin Arbors WINS Districts Match Vs. DTC#1

 

Van Goh/Rocket Rick Pitbull Bill/Double "A" Mar. E. Mozzarella E.

 

They were the big HEROS last night:

It wound up being a nailbiter, although after the first hour of the match it looked like it would be an easy victory.  They never are!!!!!!   :>)

 

Van Goh/Rocket won BIG:  6-0, 6-l.  Needless to say they were on FIRE.  Playing together, for two years, they are STILL UNDEFEATED as a dubs team.  Those guys rocked the house, and their beautiful wives Christina and Ana were there rooting them on to victory.

 

Pitbull Bill/Double "A" won 6-3, 6-3.  God they played GREAT.  The Pitbull made some absolutely AMAZING spectacular shots and Double "A" was smokin' his forehand and crankin' his serves.

 

These two DUBS wins were important.  It put us up immediately 2-0.

 

Then the tension began.

 

E GAD/Driller Miller WON THE FIRST SET.  Then they lost the second set, and lost the tiebreaker.  This was the FIRST time they played a match together.  They really played great.  I see them as one of many dubs teams next year, plus E GAD will be a singles star for us too.  They had great camaraderie on the court.

 

So now it was 2-l.

 

The Tightrope Walker has WON his first set pretty handily vs. Oren Wilk.  Oren is a total class act.  However, Oren then won the second set.  With everyone watching, The Tightrope Walker went ahead 6-l in the BREAKER.  Everyone thought it was in the bag????  No.  Give Oren a LOT OF CREDIT.  He came back to defeat The Tightrope Walker.  Previously Tightrope was undefeated l0-0.  This was his FIRST LOSS of the season.  Maybe we can keep him next year?  I hope so!!!!!!

 

So now it went from 2-0, to 2-2.

 

Mar E. Mozzarella's match with Ed Standerfer would determine the winner.  Mar E. went up  3-0 in the first set and then Ed came storming back.  It went to a first set breaker and Mario went up 6-0 in the breaker and WON.  The second set featured amazing rallies and chess like points.  Both guys played so SMART. Eventually Mar E. was two points away from his match point.  As Mar E. won the next point, Ed crumpled on the court with SEVERE CRAMPS.  The match was halted for 5 minutes.  Then Mar E. served for the match.  It went back to DEUCE.  Then Mar E. won the next two points and we won.

 

Guys, I am so PROUD that I brought Mar E. aboard.  We all see why now.

 

I am taking Mar E. to lunch today at l2 noon at Roma Deli.

 

He must be absolutely exhausted.  That match went on nearly 3 hours!!!  Ed is 27 years old.  Mar E. is AT LEAST 45 years young.  Wow!!!!!

 

Next Match is at 5:00 p.m. vs. Rhodes Ranch.

 

I am so proud of you guys.

Yesterday at the Nevada State District Championships we saw a young 24 year old future superstar turn in his BEST performance of the year.  E GAD everyone on the team was so thrilled with you big singles WIN.  You were the first one off the court, and you sparked our team to VICTORY.  I just spoke with you.  Words cannot express how HAPPY I am with your brilliant play.

 

Here are the results from last night's match:

 

#1 Singles:  Summerlin Arbors E GAD defeats Mike Springer 6-2, 6-0 (Bagel and Cream Cheese).  I kept going back and forth to watch all 5 matches.  When I was watching Mar E. Mozzarella E's match and Van Goh/Rocket's match, I could actually hear the EXPLOSIVE FIRST SERVES that E GAD was cranking up.  Yes, at 24, E GAD will be HUGE for us next year.  Already he has a CANNON serve and blazing groundstrokes.  What I loved seeing was how he combined his power and finesse shots.  E GAD you totally ROCKED THE HOUSE.  I know your agent is going to be calling me already for a HUGE $igning Bonu$$$$ for 20l0.  Magnificent performance E GAD.  What a time to turn in a superb win.  Your first serves dounded like THUNDER

 

#2 Singles:  Summerlin Arbors Mar E. Mozzarella E. defeats Josh Shore 6-2, 6-3.  Mar E. was on FIRE all match.  Our wonderful southpaw is such an intelligent player.  Mar E. really plays tennis like a Grand Chess Champion.  He patiently sets up his points.  His "lefty" angles continually took Josh really wide off the court.  I am so PROUD that I brought Mar. E. Mozzarella E. on board for our team.  He will be a POWER HOUSE next year.  He is such a CLUTCH performer.  Mar E. I believe our lunch yesterday at Roma Deli helped you win???

 

#1Dubs:  Summerlin Arbors Van Goh/Rocket Rick defeated Dan Fogg/Mike Jansen 6-3, 7-6.  Van Goh/Rocket are still UNDEFEATED the past two years as a team.  They have such chemistry and comraderie on the court.  Van Goh is so athletic and Rocket hits pinpoint shots and keeps the unforced errors to a minumum.  AMAZING  performance under pressure.

 

#2Dubs:  Rhodes Ranch Stewart Stewart/Troy Wolf defeat Chico SUAVE/Driller Miller in straights.  SUAVE and DRILLER put in a valiant effort.  They have both made big contributions to our team all year.  Two of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

 

#3 Dubs: Summerlin Arbors Pitbull Bill/Double "A" defeat Erik Levine/L. Alcarito 6-7, 6-0 Bagel and Cream Cheese, l-0.  As always Pitbull and "A" played BIG on all the MAJOR POINTS.  Double "A" has performed at the highest level all year and played impeccably and Pitbull's record this year has been off the hook.  These guys are always playing with high spirits and determination.  They are so focused.  Great dubs team.

 

Guys, I am so PROUD.  Unbelievable performance.
