Recent Rock & Roll inductees Little Anthony and the Imperials were true
winners this past Saturday night at the Cannery in North Town. Just ask
any of fans that stood online after the sold out concert concluded, just
to meet this amazing group
(half
of which were not even born yet when these Brooklyn street corner
harmonizers began their incredible career.)
I have been to 100s
of concerts throughout the years and have NEVER witnessed so many people
standing and waiting in line, it was stunning! When you see that many
people waiting with such smiling faces and feet a-tapping, you
know you’ve seen greatness. That is exactly why these guys have been
around for so long; over 50 years now, and still going strong!!!
This group has
blessed our world with an incredible musical songbook that we never tire
of. Little Anthony has truly one of thy most angelic voices ever
and the Imperials’ harmony and background are "the best."
At one point the
group did an outstanding A Cappella version of “Two People In the World”
which literally brought the audience to their feet!
If you read Anthony’s
weekly column in VCO
“An
Imperial Life – This & That,” or if you follow the music industry
news at all, you’d know that Little Anthony and the Imperials were
inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2009 and was presented by
the legendary Smokey Robinson who said the following;
He is truly right,
Little Anthony and the Imperials induction into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame was a long over due event.
Do yourself a favor,
Little Anthony and the Imperials continue to perform all over, so when
they come to your area, YOU MUST GO SEE THEM, they are “The BOMB!”
