Bad Choices For All The Right Reasons

B
ad choices for all the right reasons. What a phrase and oh, how true! Just want to let you know that this is going to be the title of one of my new songs for my next CD entitled “SEXY SONGS FROM A (not so dumb) BLONDE!”

Recording StudioAnother cut will be called, “Winter Nights”...can’t wait to get into the studio and get creative. I am writing at least four of the songs for the CD and will do interesting arrangements on some Billy Holiday stuff. Plan to have a few climaxes in the process (thank goodness I know how to do that…giggle). Yes, when I say sexy songs…I mean sexy songs. ooooo baby.

OK, back to the subject and YES! it’s about Men. Doesn’t the phrase say it all? BAD CHOICES FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS? How many times have we made bad choices knowing at the time that “it” really didn’t feel right. But what do we do ladies? We can’t run through our brain and emotional cavities fast enough justifying our choice. How many times has it worked out? NONE.

Cheating PartnerI just had a couple of first-time experiences. One was to watch the New Orleans Saints win the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl and the other... I was cheated on. I had always been the cheater not the cheated. Karma is an interesting thing.

May I tell you that it was a horrible feeling!! Can’t begin to explain how horrible it is to experience excruciating humiliation and self-doubt because of a cheater. I was the biggest dummy, too. Didn’t even have a clue. I would have doubted that summation from a woman in the old days…not a clue...but, not now.

When I recently saw an Oprah Winfrey show that featured several ladies that had all gotten AIDS from the same man, I broke out in a cold sweat. How easily that could have been me or my friends. These ladies were pretty, well put-together, smart and successful. Certainly not the types that we envision getting AIDS. A few lessons from this and none the least the following…anyone can get AIDS, use condoms and make better choices!

I am one of the lucky ones and once again “dodged the bullet.” I didn’t get a fatal disease and I have managed to climb back on my feet and be happy, but it wasn’t easy and it still haunts me that I allowed myself to make such a bad choice for all the right reasons.

Ladies when your gut feeling tells you no and when the red flags are dropping around you like bombs at Hiroshima...pay attention!! Get those stilettos in gear and run. You know the drill...Dump that Chump.

You deserve the best. I truly believe in “Mr. Right,” it’s just that only God and the Universe know when he will be placed in our lives. That’s good enough for me.

New Orleans SaintsI want to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of my beloved New Orleans! Many ask me how we are doing, and I tell them just fine and please come to visit.

We are all very proud of our Saints! “Who Dem Say Da Gona Beat Dem Saints? Who Dat! Who Dat!” Please support this wonderful deserved team as you will be supporting my wonderful city of New Orleans. We sure would appreciate it!

Congrats to VCO for being back better than ever. We all miss Marleen, but I know that she would be so proud that her Web site is back and fabulous!

Kisses, Gennifer Flowers
