February 4, 2010 – North Las Vegas, NV – North Las Vegas City Council this month begins a series of town hall meetings focused on providing the public information regarding the City’s financial status. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for the council members and various City department representatives regarding the current and upcoming annual budgets. The schedule is listed below.
Mayor Pro Tem William E. Robinson, Ward 2
Robinson will host the first Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Nevada Partners Culinary Academy, 710 W. Lake Mead Boulevard.
Councilwoman Anita G. Wood, Ward 3
Wood will host a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane.
Mayor Shari L. Buck
Buck will host a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, in Council Chambers, 2200 Civic Center Drive.
Councilman Robert Eliason, Ward 1
Eliason will host a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 11 at C.P. Squires Elementary, 1312 E. Tonopah Ave.
Councilman Richard Cherchio, Ward 4
Cherchio will host a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, at the Sun City Aliante Multi-Purpose Room, 7390 Aliante Parkway.

To Hold Town Hall Meeting
February 3, 2010 – North Las Vegas, NV – North Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem William E. Robinson will hold a Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Nevada Partners Culinary Academy, 710 W. Lake Mead Boulevard.
Robinson’s meeting will focus on the City’s financial status and actions by City management to address budget shortfalls. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for the councilman and various City department representatives regarding the current and upcoming annual budgets.

February 1, 2010 – North Las Vegas, NV – Children 18 months to 12 years old are invited to the City’s All American Kid’s Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 6, to fish off the banks of the pond at City View Park, 101 E. Cheyenne Ave. First cast will be at 7:30 a.m. Second cast will be at 9:30 a.m.
Pre-registration begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1 and is required. Space is limited to the first 80 children for each cast.
Children can bring their own poles or use one of a limited number provided by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The pond will be stocked by the Nevada Department of Wildlife with 500 rainbow trout. Participants will be able to catch and release or keep as many as three of the fish they catch. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish, smallest fish, first fish, heaviest stringer (three fish caught), and youngest angler. All participants will receive goodie bags.
Refreshments will be provided.
