City Now Offers Electronic Billing for Utilities

March 2, 2010 – North Las Vegas, NV – The City’s Utilities Department now provides customers the option of an easy, environmentally friendly and cost-effective electronic billing service.

The new feature known as “E-Bill” will be a free, paperless billing service for City’s Utility customers. Customers can sign up for the new user-friendly E-Bill on the Utilities Web site at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com/OnlineServices/OnlineServices.shtm.

“The savings in the cost of preparing, printing, and mailing the bills is not the only reason for this change,” Utilities Director David Bereskin said. “As stewards of the environment, it is our duty to not only conserve water, we must also conserve all our natural resources. This is another effort by the City to implement green services.”

Once customers have subscribed to the online service, they will be notified by email when their bill is ready for viewing. The email will contain a link that will take the customer to a secured Web site to log in to view the bill and make an online payment. Information provided by customers to the Utilities Department will not be released for any purposes other than the E-Bill process. Once the customer signs up and returns an email confirmation, all utility bills will be electronically generated every month and paper bills will no longer be mailed to the customer.
