March 17, 2010 – Washington, DC – Senator John Ensign voted in favor of an amendment that would place a ban on earmarks for one year in order to decrease out-of-control Congressional spending. Ensign cosponsored the amendment, which was authored by Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), and made the following statement:
“America’s families have been forced to cut their budgets to make ends meet. And in Nevada, our state legislators have recently had to make some very difficult, but necessary, decisions to cut spending. Congress should do everything we can to stop this out-of-control spending in Washington.”
Ensign has a long record of fighting against wasteful spending, once again receiving one of the highest scores from the National Taxpayer Union.
