Angela Stabile, co-creator and co-producer of “X” Burlesque, Men of “X” and comedian Todd Paul as well working with psychic Gary Spivey during his appearances in Vegas, is now planning on opening “X” Burlesque in Reno and Atlantic City, NJ and Men of “X” in Atlantic City. Stabile began her career as a Vegas showgirl and is immortalized in the “Crazy Girls” ads and bronze statue for “No Ifs, Ands or Butts” campaign.
Easter Seals Southern Nevada announced Jennifer Nilsen, former Director of Children and Family Services for Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast and special-education teacher, as the Director of Easter Seals Southern Nevada’s Early Intervention and Autism Services programs. Easter Seals Southern Nevada’s Early Intervention program offers a family-centered approach to working with children, ages birth to three-years-old, who have special needs.
Easter Seals Southern Nevada announced Sigrid Mohrhardt is now the Senior Director of Vocational Rehabilitation. Mohrhardt will focus on helping adult and dislocated workers regain employment through programs like Workforce Investment and Weatherization. Mohrhardt has been a part of Easter Seals Southern Nevada’s team for more than four years.
Easter Seals Southern Nevada announced Jennifer Von Tobel, former Major Gift Officer/Director of the Southern Nevada office for Las Vegas City of Hope, as the Easter Seals Southern Nevada’s Vice President of Development. Von Tobel, a native of Las Vegas and member of the prominent Von Tobel family, which dates back to the Las Vegas’ 1905 founding, has experience in the fields of Financial Development, Government Relations, Campaign/Non-Profit Fundraising and Lobbying.
Vegas PBS named Debra Solt Director of Workforce Development, a newly-formed position intended to train and retrain unemployed Nevadans through Vegas PBS’ online and broadcast services and through classroom teaching at the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus beginning in fall 2010. In her position, Solt will work with organizations and individuals throughout Nevada to develop customized programs in workforce development through Vegas PBS.
Nikki Oden recently celebrated the first anniversary of her business, Eleven Spa. She designed the spa to be reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour and has plans to expand. Odgen also owns a successful spa in Florida. Odgen, a successful financial investor, quit her job when she decided to follow her dreams and open her own business, despite the economic climate.
Tracey Judkins, LPN, CHPLN, a nurse with Nathan Adelson Hospice, was recently recognized as the 2010 National Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse of the Year by the National Board of Hospice and Palliative Nursing. A four-year employee of the non-profit organization, Judkins earned the nationwide honor for her professionalism and commitment to patient care.
Thalia Dondero, the first women elected to the Clark County Commission in 1974, received the Women’s Hall of Fame Pioneer Award from the Women’s Chamber Foundation on March 19 at a luncheon at Morton’s The Steakhouse. Dondero’s award was presented by friend, colleague and last year’s recipient, The Honorable Lorraine Hunt-Bono. Dondero is the third recipient of this award that honors her for decades of community service.
Nevada-based certified public accounting firm Kafoury, Armstrong & Co. has recently named Megan Schimick, CPA a shareholder in the firm.
Terrence McGowan, president of Datanamics, Inc., recently announced the Henderson-based information technology firm has hired Melissa Tabari as Manager – Educational Services. In her new position, Tabari will be responsible for performing customer sales, fostering and maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients, creating proposals and developing and participating in sales and marketing efforts, including lead generation.
