Veterans in Politics on Repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell…
For Social Experimentation In The Military
Veterans In Politics International seeks a block
on the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”
May 28, 2010 – Las Vegas, NV – “We do not need open sexuality of any kind in the military,” said Steve Sanson, President of Veterans In Politics International and a Republican candidate running for Clark County Public Administrator. “Don’t ask, Don’t tell applies to everyone who is serving, because your sex life isn’t a part of the job.”
Sanson said he opposes the amendment made by Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA.) to the Defense authorization bill that would repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that prohibits homosexuals from serving openly in the military. Sanson said he and other members of Veterans In Politics are against this repeal because we have no way of knowing what kind of impact the change would have on our troops. “We are involved in two tough wars right now,” Sanson said. “Now is not the time for social experiments when our troops’ lives are on the line.”
Sanson a former US Marine that served in Desert Storm.
