World Series of Poker Report

orld Series of Poker fever has hit Las Vegas and is spreading rapidly. For the first time, the WSOP is taking the entire Rio convention center! NO TENTS! The Amazon room is now smaller than the Pavilion. It is absolutely jaw-dropping to new comers and to be honest, my jaw went a little slack when I walked into the Pavilion! Nolan Dolla compares it to the Grand Canyon, poker style. To quote some of his statistics: “The numbers do provide some idea of the size and scale of this year’s WSOP: 100,000-square-feet of floor space; 378 poker tables; 1,000 dealers; thousands of spectators, capacity for up to 3,760 players in a single day; Enough watts of electricity to power a city.” Get the idea?
There are smaller scale but great tournaments going on all over the city and they all are busy! Included are the Venetian Deep Stacks, Caesars Palace Mega Stack Series, Binion’s Poker Classic and upcoming is the Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget and the new Aria Classic. WOW!
I have already had several private satellites for the WSOP and the other series going on in town. In the latest Gordon Mummy won it, which won him a seat in the Seniors event to play as a partner for all of us. I won second which is a $550 buy-in wherever I want to play and Sonya won third which is a $340 seat.
I will be tweeting live from my WSOP events. Getting my tweets is as simple as signing up for them. Some of you thought that you had to have email capability on your phones—not! If you can receive text, you can receive my tweets. Sassy explains exactly what to do: Directions for following Susie on twitter via text:
Go to www.twitter.com and make an account. Then click on the settings tab, then click on the mobile tab and follow the instructions to set up your cell phone. Then search for Susie Isaacs or search by screen name @luv2raise and click on follow. Then go to Susie Isaacs profile and by the word “following” there is a round circle with a phone in it—click on that to receive text updates to your phone. Every time Susie tweets, you will receive a text message.
At this satellite, I introduced my two new hats for the 2010 WSOP. My “milliner” is Doralee Rae, aka Lady Pink. She is mega-talented when it comes to putting do-das, sparkles, spangles, cards, and other such decor on...anything! Crafty, shall we say (at the poker table too!)
