See the Las Vegas Sun, June 29

L
ast week, Steve Kanigher of the Las Vegas Journal called me and we talked about the males (jerks) who played in the ladies WSOP event. On Sunday, June 29, his article came out and I thought he did a nice job. Go to www.lasvegassun.com. In the center of the first page from the June 29 issue, under “More News” you will find “Men in a women’s World Series of Poker tourney: Can, should they be kept out.” You need to see this. There also is a video of one of the boys who played, it is sort of an apology but he goes on to demote ladies only poker tournaments. You’ll notice that I don’t call these male-children, men. They are not men, they are trouble-making, disrespectful, boys, out for attention, any way they can get it.

On a related subject, now is the time to vote for your choice of two women for the 2010 Women in Poker Hall of Fame. Somehow, from those who don’t know her stand on women in poker, Annie Duke got on the ballot. First of all, if by some miracle she was voted it, I think she would shun the whole idea. Secondly, I honestly do not think she has a prayer. Cast your vote at www.wiphof.com.

In case you think I am exaggerating about Duke, you can read her blog on the subject. In the aforementioned Las Vegas Sun article, in part it reads: Annie Duke, who blogged after the ladies event that her preference would be to have that championship removed from the World Series schedule.
