A Las Vegas Woman is part of making history in Phantom—The Las Vegas Spectacular
On June 24, In celebration of four years on the Las Vegas Strip, Phantom—The Las Vegas Spectacular made history. The Phantom audience at The Venetian were transformed into “Angels of Music” using masks and for one record-breaking moment The Phantom Theatre was home to more than 1,800 “Phantoms,” the largest gathering of “Phantoms” ever. The event was captured on video and memorialized on Phantom’s Web site and Facebook pages.
Before accepting the role of Madame Giry in Phantom, Tina Walsh performed in Mamma Mia! Las Vegas (Donna Sheridan) and EFX! (Morgana/Bess Houdini) costarring opposite leads Michael Crawford, Tommy Tune and Rick Springfield. Phantom—The Las Vegas Spectacular thrills audiences six nights a week at The Venetian. Tickets are available by calling the Venetian Box Office at 414-9000, or online at www.Venetian.com.
RHUMBAR, the cocktail lounge and patio retreat at the Mirage, will feature Summer Nights starting at 9 p.m. offering cabaret-style performances like Jazz Under the Starz with Bobby Barnes and the Merchants of Jazz and Puff ’n’ Pulse with reggae sensation Bonafide. Summer Nights will continue through early October.
Aug. 21, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Aid for AIDS of Nevada will host their 24th Annual Black & White Party inside The Joint concert venue at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Appearances include longtime AFAN supporters Penn & Teller; co-hosts Mary Murphy of So You Think You Can Dance and local TV anchor/reporter, Chris Saldana and Dawn Wells of Gilligan’s Island. Aug. 30–Sept. 5 is Restaurant Week, which allows diners to experience special prix fixe menus at their favorite restaurants while giving back. A portion of the specially priced menus (either $30.10 or $50.10) goes to Three Square to help fight hunger in Southern Nevada.
