What is the American Dream?

T
Tony Saccawo hundred fifty years ago the American Dream was the birth of our new country. One hundred years ago the American Dream was an immigrant coming to America escaping the evils of Europe. Fifty years ago the American Dream was family, raising children, owning a home, and having all the material things that made up the good life.

So what’s the American Dream today? We still have immigrants coming to America, but today they are mostly illegal and unwanted. Today the American family is fragmented, homeownership is a drag, and all the material things that made up the good life seem unimportant. Except maybe an iPhone, or a Lady Gaga DVD.

CLICK TO ENLARGEWithout getting too emotional, maybe the American Dream today is what it has always been, an opportunity to see your dream become a reality. Since October 2009, Las Vegas locals had questions about Tony Sacca & Josette LeBlond’s new club, Las Vegas Rocks Café. Is the old and empty Neonopolis on Fremont Street a good location? Can Tony get air-conditioning in the building, and what about the hard to find underground parking? Most of all, can they make any money and not lose everything? And is it mandatory that all entertainers open a nightclub before they die?

Despite all the obstacles and critics, including myself, Tony & Josette charged on and made their American Dream come true. The Las Vegas Rocks Café is on Fremont Street at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard. The place is huge, with a showroom in the back, a nightclub, restaurant & bar in front and the outside sidewalk area with tables and chairs. Las Vegas Rocks Café is fun, with tons of Old Las Vegas memorabilia and great historical pictures everywhere you look.

I have only been to Las Vegas Rocks for the entertainment, but I understand they serve great food, after all, Josette is a French Chef.

They have a new musical called, “Vegas the Show” billed as a singing, dancing, comedy history of Las Vegas. I really enjoyed the show, although, it was a bit too long. I think Tony could drop the look into future Las Vegas, unless he can tell us if Vegas will still have Elvis impersonators in the year 2050?

Saturday night was Josette’s Birthday and they hosted a wonderful party for over 200 people. With that many people, they could have taken a short cut and just served cake, but they served lots of food and champagne too. You see for Tony & Josette its not just about making money, they want to entertain and make everyone happy. Let’s keep their dream alive, go to the Las Vegas Rocks Café; every time I go, I always have a good time. Tony is always a gentleman, and Josette is always French. Live Tony & Josette’s American Dream, or until you get an American Dream of your own.
