September 13, 2010 – North Las Vegas, NV – The City’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services is pleased to announce the availability of Community Development Block Grant Public Service and Construction applications for the 2011-2012 program year.
Applications will be available beginning Monday, Sept. 13. The deadline for the application submissions is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28. Applications are available online at http://www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com/cdbg through Thursday, Oct. 28.
Eligible organizations include: public agencies, and private, non-profit entities with current 501 (c) (3) status. Only applications that meet federal CDBG funding requirements set by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, and by federal regulations 24 CFR Part 570 are eligible. Eligible projects and activities must serve low/moderate income residents of the City of North Las Vegas and must meet one of the following national objectives:
• Benefit low/moderate income persons,
• Prevent or eliminate slum or blight, or
• Meet other urgent community development needs.
The City will hold orientation meetings to review the grant application process and requirements. The meetings for prospective public services applicants are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, and from 9: 30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 4, at 2290 McDaniels Street, Suite 1A, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. The meeting for prospective construction services applicants is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21 and from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, at the same location.
