Downtown Las Vegas Tunes Up for The Grand Prix

Downtown Las Vegas continues to add to its old mystic as well as the new. The Vegas Grand Prix as it is appropriately titled, announced this month that the Historic Grand Prix (HGP) will open it’s season at the inaugural Vegas Grand Prix April 6th thru 8th; currently scheduled to race in the historic event are former open wheel legends; Arie Luyendyk, Danny Sullivan and Al Aunser Jr.

In talking with Mayor Goodman and Dale Jensen - partner of DDB Ventures, it was agreed that Vegas Grand Prix will grow much bigger than all Grand Prix Races here and abroad.

“This could be a 10 day vacation for Europeans to travel to Las Vegas, then travel to Long Beach for the Grand Prix there”, stated Bradley Yonover – principal of DDB Ventures. There will also be a 30 minute race, prior to The Champ Car World Series Race on Sunday April the 8th, 2007. “I can’t wait to get behind one of those gorgeous cars and compete against Al Jr. and Arie again”, Sullivan said. The Historic Grand Prix will be on display throughout the Vegas Grand Prix weekend for race fans to enjoy, all complete with story board, period photos and history. This grand event will not only bring an audience from around the globe, but it will incorporate a weekend of major rock concerts, a championship boxing match from Golden Boy Enterprises, a celebrity poker tournament, an Easter Sunrise Service and an Easter egg hunt culminating in the 2007 series for Champ Car World Series.
