WHAT IS NEVADA Senior Games about? Throughout the ages man has been faced with many challenges. We only have to look at the popularity of professional sports to know that athletic competition draws the interest of millions of people and supports an industry that turns over billions of dollars annually. How many senior citizens fantasize scoring that big touchdown or hitting a grand-slam homerun or standing on a podium to accept a gold medal?
Nevada Senior Games, Inc. seeks to tap this powerful force by offering NEVADA SENIOR OLYMPICS, an event which provides every senior citizen age 50 and older an opportunity to participate in such a challenge and perhaps experience a small piece of that thrill of victory. And by "every senior" we mean just that. The repertoire of sporting events are designed to accept all athletic abilities from the tri-athlete to the shuffleboarder.

The community-at-large also receives a major benefit from Senior Olympics. The senior population is the most neglected segment despite the rapidity of its growth resulting in many emotional and health problems. Communities which had once been staples in their daily lives, requires new replacements for those lost by time and circumstance. Nevada Senior Games can be instrumental in providing at least one alternative community where recognition of achievement and companionship are major goals. We urge all seniors, potential volunteers and sponsors to check out Nevada Senior Games by calling 702-242-1590, sending an e-mail to nevadaseniorgames@earthlink.net or logging on to our website at www.nevadaseniorolympics.com.
