It has been a little over four months since the County Party's new team has been in office. I want to give you a report of what has been happening and what is coming for the Republican Party in Clark County.

We have been involved or sponsored 10 events in the last four months. Car and gun shows, a bass show, a jazz festival, Italian and Greek festivals, a fund raiser with the three Republican County Commissioners, and a BBQ for a State Senator and Assemblywoman.

In the near term, Attorney General George Chanos and Clark County District Attorney David Roger have been very gracious in supporting a reception in their honor Wednesday, December 7th at the Golden Nugget. Both the Attorney General and the District Attorney have long histories of supporting the Party. Whenever we ask for help, they are always there. I hope you will have time to attend the reception and thank George and David for the work they are doing in protecting all of us. The next few months will be very busy for the Party. January 17, 2006 will be a combined Precinct and Central Committee meeting at AZ Charlie's at Decatur and Alta. The Precinct meeting will start at 5:00 p.m. with the Central Committee meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. Please stop by and sign up the County Convention that is scheduled for March 18, 2006.

The County Convention is critical to the function of the party. New State Central Committee membership will be voted upon as well as the new Executive Board for the County Party. You will hear most if not all of the Republican candidates address the membership. The location for the March 18th Convention has not been selected at this time, but I will keep you posted.

And lastly, our 2006 Lincoln Day Dinner (LDD). It will again be at the Venetian Inn. The date will be February 18, 2006. The scheduled keynote speaker is Ken Mehlman, Chairman of the National Republican Party. The cost to attend the diner is $100 or $300 for the VIP reception, which includes the dinner. You can purchase tables for $1,000 or $3,000. Last year's LDD was a great success and I know that this year's event will be even better. Please plan to attend the LDD and enjoy some great food and good company. Again, the web site will provide additional information.
