The energy and
talent of the dancers was extra-ordinary! We got tired just watching
them. Their athletic ability and stamina were on par with
world-class
athletes. The true
stand-outs
were the principal Adagio dancers, Stephanie Shaw and Chris
Nicholson. They were a sheer joy to watch. Their astonishing
strength and agility were phenomenal. |

The show takes you
on a musical journey though time. Starting with the Minuet, to the
time-honored Can-Can, which made the Folies famous, through the
Flapper days of the
‘20’s,
into the
Glamorous ‘30’s
era, to
Rock ‘n’
Roll. |

The
wonderful music that was written and scored by the show’s producer,
Jerry Jackson, the internationally recognized costumes and the
innovative sets, including a mirror number, ala the Hollywood movies
from the ‘40’s kept the audience engrossed through out. |

During the show,
there is one break for the dancers, which was well deserved. In the
course of their breather, the
headliner,
Wally Eastwood the world’s fastest juggler performs.
Jugglers
are not our cup of tea
but,
not only was
Wally’s juggling
ability
incredible,
including playing a piano by throwing rubber balls at the keys, he
was HILARIOUS! He had the audience "OO"ing and "AH"ing and cracking
up all at the same time. We really were disappointed when he left
the stage.

Bravo to the producer,
dancers and singers that make the Folies a true Vegas treasure and class
act. We, “Vegas
Community Online”,
were also
treated by the Tropicana Hotel with style and class. No wonder you’ve
lasted so long.
There are two shows
most nights. The late show is topless, and for adults only, but the
early show could be a wonderful opportunity to expose children to a
creative, musical and visual treat!
So,
for a REAL
Vegas experience, and a definite bargain (tickets start at $45), catch
the Folies Bergere at the Tropicana Hotel to see what made Vegas, Vegas! |
