The show
begins with an array of celebrities introducing the two stars on
film,
including, Milton Berle, David Letterman, Sid Caesar and others.
The stars tell us,
that the show's title
comes from an argument they had early in their marriage. Renee became so
upset with Joe that she said, "Pack your things and get out!!" So
Bologna started packing. So then Taylor began packing too,
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked.
"If you ever leave me, I'm going with you," she answered.
This two-person
production is about the couple’s 35-year marriage and is a
side-splitting collection of monologues, TV and movie clips, home movies
and scenes from a variety of Broadway plays they've written, including
"Acts of Love and Other Comedies" and "Bermuda Avenue Triangle".
It is clear from
the very beginning how much in love these two are, to the point, where
they have renewed their wedding vows at least four or five times, and
even once on the TV show, "The Merv Griffin Show."
A two-person show
is usually very tough to pull off, but their rapport and the quality of
dialogue made it a snap. What really makes this production so special,
is the fact that the two bring so much of themselves into the play.
Their experiences and stories hit so close to home for so many of us. I
noticed the man at the next table wipe away tears several times from
laughter.
The good news for
the Las Vegas community is that this production is coming back in
November.
So for an evening
of pure laughter and quality performances, catch
