More Feng Shui Tips for the New Year

Feng Shui deals with the energy or the chi in your home and office. When we have too much clutter in our space it seems to "block" the energy in our lives. Case in point: if you have a home office and tend to accumulate stacks of papers, folders, and files, then every time you enter that space you immediately feel overwhelmed. To complete a task well it is vital to find order in this space.

The same holds true if you keep a lot of "stuff" in your bedroom on the dresser, armoire, or closet floors. This should be like the "inner sanctum" for rest and relaxation. When you enter this space after a long day it is difficult to relax and unwind with so much clutter around.

To start off the New Year, look long and hard at your spaces and pull away those items that do not serve you at this time. Take a moment when you feel industrious to sort through those stacks of magazines, bills, papers and folders. Ask a friend to help out and plan to place a large trash bin or shredder to dispose of unnecessary items. Clear your office out and clear off your desktop and then carefully think of how that item brings in cash or creates new opportunity for you. Be very discriminate of what you put back. Purchase a file cabinet for additional storage. There are always great bargains this time of year for storage containers as people put away their holiday ornaments.

Then take time to review your bedroom and master bedroom closet space. Are there clothes on the floor? Are there boxes, laundry, or clutter around the room? Again, when the mood hits you, pull everything out of the room and find a place for it before you put it back. Any clothes that no longer fit should be sent out into the Universe for that single mother struggling, or that homeless family that are trying to get by. Whatever good you circulate out to the world will come back in spades as well as open up your space for new things. When we understand that everything around us has an energetic "vibration" then we become more aware of how we are living and what we are surrounding ourselves with.
