The Social Register of Las Vegas' "Royal Hawaiian Luau" Featured Guest Celebrities Rich Little, Vicki Lawrence and Tony Curtis, plus a Unique Benefit for Keepers of the Wild
On Saturday, September 17, 2005, The Social Register of Las Vegas held its
"Royal Hawaiian Luau" event at the spectacular island home of Dr. Charles
and Mrs. Kerri Fleisher.
 |
Guest celebrities in attendance at the event included renowned
impressionist Rich Little, acclaimed actress and comedienne Vicki
Lawrence, and celebrated film star and artist Tony Curtis. |
Upon their arrival at the event, Social Register members and their guests
were greeted by Hula & Samoan Fire Dancers and presented with magnificent
flower leis that were flown in from fresh from Hawaii specifically for the
event.
|
 |
They were then whisked poolside into an elaborately landscaped and
decorated, lush island setting where they savored exotic drinks and
indulged in the splendor of a royal Hawaiian feast prepared by Chef
Michael Napolitano, while enjoying the rhythmic island beat of the Hot
Lava Band. |
 |
|
The highlights of the evening included a spectacular Polynesian
performance of music and dance with the elaborately costumed Hula &
Samoan Fire Dancers, hilarious performances by Rich Little and Vicki
Lawrence, and a playful impromptu Hawaiian dance by Tony Curtis. |
 |
The event also featured a unique charitable benefit for Keepers of the
Wild, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is deeply committed to
the rescue and rehabilitation of neglected or abused exotic and wild
animals. |
For many of these animals, this is their last chance for a life of peaceful coexistence with man; their last hope for survival. Keepers of the Wild provides a clean, safe and loving environment for over 100 exotic animals, including lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, cougars, wolves and other wonderful animals. At Keepers of the Wild, these animals have been given the chance to recover and live happily ever after, and despite their respective backgrounds, have even learned to trust people again.
