Entertainer and
Recording Artist, “Stone” at the City Lights Night Club
|

|
A great stage presence,
original songs with strong melodies and lyrics makes entertainer and
recording artist Stone a must see! Stone
performed his music, a mix of R & B and Soul, which he calls “Neo-Soul”
before a great crowd at City Lights. Stone’s music touched
on many subjects, but mostly “life and love”, which kept the attention
of his audience. This columnist would like to see Stone in
front of a full band instead of the small combo. Catch
him now, on his way to the top! His new CD entitled “Zodiac” is in
the stores nationwide. |

Entertainer and
Recording Artist, Kim Styles,
at the Le Bete Lounge |
|
Kim Styles
appears five-nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
in the Le Bete Lounge, at the Wynn Las Vegas. Which in this day and age of mediocre lounges
is a stand-out!
As you pass
through the front
doors you walk right past her performing area. Kim
is a stunning young lady with a great stage presence, who sings the
standards with a smooth style reminiscent of Jo Stafford of the fifties
or Karen Carpenter of the seventies and eighties. Kim has
a CD out entitled “Time will Tell”, on Treasure Chest Records that just
went to number 25 on the Adult Contemporary charts nationally. She
recently recorded in Nashville for an upcoming CD release. Be sure to
stop by and enjoy this wonderful talent with her keyboard player and
drummer brother team that truly compliments her.

The
"Karaoke Korner" |
|
There are more
Karaoke rooms in town than I can count, but we will bring to your
attention talent that we feel can and should be working in the Las Vegas
Strip lounges and beyond.
One
of my favorite Karaoke spots around town is the Bootlegger Bistro
on Monday nights, which is
hosted by Kelly Clinton. Kelly,
a talent in her own right, brings to the audience a plethora of talented
performers, including many of our local celebrities (who show up after
their gigs or on their night off) It starts at 8:30.The place is usually
packed by 10:00 (as it should be, given the fine food, atmosphere and
celebrity clientele), so come early, like nineish, for a good seat.
| Each month we will
focus on an outstanding singer that deserves recognition. This month
the "Karaoke Korner" would like to call to your attention Angelos,
a Greek born singer that I was very impressed with that has worked
throughout the Midwest before coming to Vegas. I caught Angelos
at Arizona Charlie’s West. He is one of those people who should be
booked in a lounge or in a room on the strip. You agents out there, keep
your eyes and ears open for Angelos who sings adult contemporary
and many other styles. |
