CARROT TOP AGREES WITH WORLD PEACE

CARROT TOP KNOWN to millions through his AT&T commercial and his interactive comedy stopped by KLAV Studios to appear on Corner For Success with Amie Jo. While waiting to appear on the show I did a report with international recording artist Fred Nassiri about his new CD entitled 'Love Knows No Color.' The interview which is part of my entertainment report let the radio know that Nassiri will debut his world peace concert in Cape Town, South Africa at the Velodrome on Aug. 2, 2006 with Stevie Wonder. Nassiri believes that his World Peace Concert will make an effect in promoting peace around the world.

Carrot Top, in his interview with Amie Jo, agrees on world peace and also feels that music has a way of healing people. Carrot Top, originally from Florida, has a great run in Las Vegas as a headliner during the last sixteen years—he is currently appearing at the Luxor. One of the things that people ask him about is his red hair. He states everyday is a good day when you have your hair. The high-energy comedian who works with props and all sorts of goodies he stuffs in his suitcases. "It is an inner active show when you think about it," says Carrot Top. When asked about his style of comedy he doesn't necessarily have anyone person that his show can compare to. He does however enjoy George Carlin, Jonathan Winters, and Don Rickles. One thing you can be sure about in a Carrot Top show and that is that it incorporates story telling and a lot of visual props; even some video. Show times are 8:00 p.m. every night but Tuesday when it is dark and 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.

COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS—BRILLANT

The Country Music Awards held last week on Tuesday was brilliant. It was more then just a show highlighting winners, it was an industrial show that recognized the talent of producers and directors and artist themselves. Kenny Chesney, in addition to being an excellent entertainer, won Entertainer of the Year; while Keith Urban won Male Artist of the Year and Gretchen Wilson won Female and New Artist of the Year.

Top Vocal Duo went to Brooks and Dunn and Top Vocal Group went to Rascal Flatts. When it comes to humility and being real, Brooks and Dunn tell it like it is. "We're just glad to be able to do what we do; telling a story about real life and playing music that gets to the heart is what we do. It is not about ego. It is not about flash. It is just about being real."

Video of the Year went to 'Girls Lie Too' producer Rick Rucker. Shaun Silva and Terri Clark. 'Whiskey Lullaby' Don Lepora, Rick Schroder, Brad Paisley, featuring (Alison Kruss) 'Be Here' won Album of the Year, Keith Urban, Don Huff, Keith Urban/Capitol Records Nashville. 'Live Like You Were Dying' won Single Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, Tim McCraw, Brian Gallimore, Darron Smith/Curb Records. Writers for 'Live Like You Were Dying' were Craig Wiseman, Tim Nichlolas/Big Loud Shirt (ASCAP).

INDIAN FESTIVAL COMES TO VEGAS

Raja Majid the CEO of Origin India is planning a festival that perhaps will be unlike any festival to hit Las Vegas with some of the leading stars of India. "What people may not know is that Indian food comes from various regions of India and that it can be ordered as a mild dish or a spicy dish," states the international restaurateur. This week I had the pleasure, along with my partner Michael Carter and his son Little MC to explore the new lunch menu offered by Origin India. Let me first be perfectly frank and say that the Chats, which are salads, not only aroused my pallet, especially on a hot day, but they are truly invigorating compared to other dishes I have had. The Chnna Chat, chickpea salad was delightful. The lamb sis kebab salad is most exciting and only cost $8.95. As stated in their menu it is blissfully Indian. There motto at Origin India states, passion is our food and their obsession is our service. Starting in July there will be a late night dinner menu from 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

VH1 ROCK HONORS

The VH1 Rock Honors Award show held at Mandalay Event Center was a kicker. The tribute to Kiss consisted of band members Rob Zombie, Slash, Gibi Clarke, Scott Ian, Tommy Lee, himself, and Ace Frehley. Rock fans partied heavy while an awesome show of fireworks set the stage. When asked how he felt about the Tribute Gene Simmons stated, "It is always nice to be recognized. Kiss was the original and there will never be anything like them."

STEVIE WONDER, FRED NASSIRI, LAYLA ALI EMBRACE WORLD PEACE IN CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

In a world where there is much confusion and much anticipation of where our music is going, especially that of negative music which influences our children into hostility, there is now an answer with the joining of voices with Stevie Wonder, international recording artist, business man, and world traveler, Fred Nassiri, and the talents of Layla Ali.

The concept is about sharing, yet coming together spiritually through subconscious minds which is called Ubuntu. The people involved feel that music can heal the world, through its melodic melodies and its message. In Mr. Nassiri case, his album, 'Love Sees No Color' transcends all boundaries. The lyrics, Love Sees no color, no race, no religion; we are the same as the rays from the sun. Only through love can we live as one states it all. This all happened from a phone call from Cape Town, South Africa's promoter, Joe Manyahti. Manyahti had picked up the Las Vegas-Hollywood magazine four years ago and had given Simon Sahouri, the publisher, a call in regard to an event that would pay tribute to Nelson Mandela. What started as an embryo has become the World Peace Concert in South Africa which will be held at the Velodrome. Included in the entertainment will be Ynonne Chaka Chaka, Sibongile Khumalo, Madosini, Drakensberg Boys Choir, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Feseka High School Choir, Freshly Ground, Phuzekhemisi, Ntrando, and Bongo Maffin. One of the true highlights of which there will be many will be the debut of his original birthday song which will be performed to honor the 88th birthday of South African and global peace icon, Nelson Mandela. In addition to the concert and the Layla Ali fight there will be a gala evening unlike any event held in Cape Town. Mr. Joe Manyahti and Mr. Frank Fredricks of Sta-Trade Promotions are elated for the Abuntu celebration. Earl Abullah, the spokesperson for Mr. Manyahti and Nassiri Music and LVH Media stated, "The fact the council general invited Fred Nassiri with his song 'Love Sees No Color, No Race, No Religion' is an excellent way for us to move forward in learning to share and have compassion for each other. This will be the mark of a peace movement which will travel throughout the world." stated Abdulla. For more information on this event call LVH Media at 702-792-4067
