DJ Megabucks, KISS vs. Little People Plus X Girls Mark the SpotsWednesday, June 7, 2006
  $25,000 FOR 1 HOUR
PLAY Our super-successful nightclubs, already at war with each other in
seducing Hollywood starlets for pricey parties, have now fired another premium
paycheck salvo. This time its about those DJs who mix the hits for turntables
all over town- and it’s a Luxe Life story that will certainly make headlines
elsewhere after these revelations. The financial offers to attract the
superstars of that business have escalated sky-high and I’m reliably told that
over the past holiday weekend the world’s said-to-be #1 DJ Tiesto picked up a
reported $75,000 fee for four hours play not just once for a daytime pool party
at the Hard Rock but a 2nd time for an all-nighter near dawn from
the Empire Ballroom. Not bad work for $150K!! Word of the astronomical sized paychecks
has caught the attention of celebrities and rockers who are now offering their services to spin.
Again I’m reliably told that Motley Crue wildman Tommy Lee commands $25,000 for
a 1-hour celebrity appearance playing records! Britney Spear’s husband, Kevin
Federline even advertises on the Internet that he’ll show up for a $15,000
payday! One Strip nightclub operator told me candidly: “Some of the fees being
demanded now by top DJs are, quite frankly, obscene but the competition is so
tough we have no choice but to pay it out. We heard that one celebrity DJ fell
asleep in a cabana waiting to earn $25,000, finally woke up, did 40 minutes and
still got paid without anybody complaining. Some nightclubs here now have hired
as many as 3 DJs to entertain in a single night so the music never stops. – it’s
just a marathon with kids still dancing up a storm after dawn rises and normal
people are going to work! DJs are so much in demand that they’re flying in from
as far away as Europe and Canada
to entertain the masses. The competition is fierce -- its become another part
of the nightclub wars!”
KISS THREATENS
BEACHER’S EMPIRE

High-priced New York
lawyers representing Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and the other members of the
KISS rock group have started the first round of a court battle to shut down
comedy star Jeff Beacher’s plans to showcase his Tiny Kiss tribute band at the new Beachers
Roadhouse. Luxe Life has learned exclusively that it’s the first official legal
“cease and desist” demand threatening legal punitive action. “It’s just so
unfair,” said Jeff Beacher. “There aren’t many opportunities for
little people to get showbiz stardom and here when I give them a shot the big
guns who have all the money in the world try to put them out of business.” The
Roadhouse should have its grand opening center Strip at the Imperial Palace for
July 4 weekend as part of the ongoing incredible Harrah’s makeover we told you
about in yesterday’s Luxe Life superscoop! (click here for that report) Beacher
told me his Roadhouse which replaces the Tequila Joe karaoke bar opened back in
2003, will feature other tiny people as waiters and waitresses and that he’ll
employ drag-queens as part of the security staff. He said: “Think of the
Roadhouse as a never ending spring break New Years Eve frat party that’s
totally out of control with stripper-pole contests, foam parties, bull riding
and the Wheel of Misfortune. At 2am we
will just have begun to become the coolest place for Vegas nightlife.”
Beacher is also the brash brains the new interactive Fine Theater,
where customers can join in as performers, He’s opening it this summer in the
recently shuttered Vivid dance club at The Venetian. On June 15 at the Hard
Rock for six-hours, he’ll audition improv actors and actresses, flair
bartenders, go-go dancing cocktail waitresses and “anybody who can put on a
show featuring their best talents”. Beacher told me exclusively that the Fine
Theater, which is alongside the Tao restaurant-nightclub complex will
complement and not rival that hot spot. “ We’re going to be the home of avante
garde, off Broadway, unique and unusual small theatrical productions that will
be different all the time. Think ‘Rocky Horror’ one night and ‘Cabaret’ the
next -- wild, outrageous and a definite alternative choice to crowded Vegas
nightclub dance floors.”
X MARKS THE SPOT!

Following their return from a short South American tour, the
gorgeous X Girls have added new dancers and new routines to their show at the V
Theater in the Aladdin’s Desert Passage -- and hard to believe its even hotter
than before! Producer Angela Sampras even enlisted sexy ‘Fashionista’s’
choreographer Enrique Lugo to choreograph all new numbers including one that
has two X Girls dressed as butch guys picking up 2 other X-girls in a hot Latin
dance. (Enjoy our opening night Xclusive photos by Scott Doctor)

She told Luxe Life: “We continually update the show to
always keep it fresh for fans. Our first tour south of the border was so
successful, we’re going next to Colombia
in early July for 3 sold-out shows already.”

In addition, former adult-movie star Sunset Thomas,
currently appearing in a HBO show, filmed segments for her reality-series and
then accepted an offer to become the feature-attraction in ‘X’ starting July 1!
Angela added: “You don’t have to see another sexy revue in Vegas. X has
everything you would want – beautiful girls, talented dancers and the hottest
routines and guest stars!”
A $27-MILLION 2ND
BIRTHDAY

The V Theater, where the X Girls perform nightly, has
celebrated its second anniversary. Failed business ventures haunted the
property before young Vegas producer, David Saxe, took it over and launched his
debut 'Ultimate Variety' show. Now two years later, he’s had more than
half-a-million visitors attend his live shows there grossing just over $27 million
in the turnaround. Luxe Life joined David and the X Girls at the circus-type
party he set up at the box office. The X Girls hosted a bouncing big top for those courageous enough to crawl through the netting. . His 30,000 sq.ft.
theater is also home to Nathan Burton’s ‘Comedy Magic’ show,
‘Fab Four Mania’ and Gregory Popovich’s ‘Comedy Pet Theater.’

David, who also produces 'Buck Wild' at the Sahara and 'Xtreme
Magic' with Dirk Arthur at the Tropicana, told me: “Even with five shows at the
V, I think we can do another and I’m seriously looking at 'Stripper 101,' so
ladies shopping in the mall’s great stores can come in and get lessons from a
burlesque queen on how to dance around a stripper pole and do high-kicks over a
high-backed chair!” Business-suited David volunteered to sit atop a dunk-tank
so that guests and his shows’ cast members could take a shot at tipping him
underwater.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

When comedian Carrot Top waited backstage at the Orleans
Arena for me to introduce him as the surprise guest at our 4th
annual ‘Best In Show’ to adopt pets and raise funds for the Lied Animal Shelter,
he fell in love with a cute adorable abandoned puppy. The dog loved him back just as fast and it was one perfect immediate adoption! Carrot
Top is the only star to have been named ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and ‘Comedian
of the Year’ in the same year!! He’s a good friend and his show at the Luxor
is a sell-out mega-hit every night. He performed some silly dog tricks on the
centerline of the arena, which was nearly filled with our best turnout to date.
Members of the Second City
comedy team also entertained between pets on parade walks!
STRIP SCRIBBLES

Game show king, Monty Hall, as chairman of our
showbiz charity The Variety Club, honored William Austin as “Humanitarian of
the Year” at Bally’s for his gifts of more than 150,000 hearing aids to
underprivileged kids. Monty, who still plays tennis 3 times each week, joked to
me that he’s a real bionic man “I had seven operations last year and everything
has been done to my body except the one thing that really matters at my age!”
Norm Crosby and Clint Holmes attended along with Wayne Newton, Lance
Burton, Tony Curtis and Barry Manilow. … Wyclef Jean got so much into the party mood at Tryst
nightclub in the Wynn that he performed a spontaneous set for fans who sang
along with him on “Killing Me Softly”… Congratulations to my superstar chef
friend, Alex Stratta, whose Alex
restaurant, also at Wynn, was named one of the six notable newcomers in the
entire world by Travel & Leisure magazine in its annual World’s Best
survey. (click here to see our exclusive AOL
Video with Alex at his palatial restaurant). In the same issue, the Four
Seasons Hotel Las Vegas was the only local hotel to receive top honor of
placing sixth for World’s Best service!
TONIGHTS TIP
Favorite country-queen, Reba Mc Entire, starts another run through June 18 of her “Elevator Tour” at the Hilton, followed
by a fan’s meet and greet. … ‘Mindfreak’ magician Cris Angel’s second A&E show

baffled as he saws himself in half and then again!!! … Salt ‘n’ Pepa’s DJ
Spinderella plays at the movie release party for ‘The Omen’ at Tangerine. … Slayer
has an Unholy Alliance with Children of Bodom in an ultra-metal, head-banging
