Beacher's Mad Hunt for the Bizarre, Toni's Dancers & Sopranos Star Waits for Word of WhackThursday, June 22, 2006
MAD, MAD WORLD

Heavyweight comedy host, Jeff Beacher, may well have dropped
30 pounds on a water diet, but he’s still throwing his corporate weight around
as he adds two more weird and wild entertainment attractions to the Strip. “Guy
LaLiberte has his lockdown with Cirque, but I’m going to have the lockdown on
alternate theater. I’m going to do three shows at a time and we’ll see where it
goes from there,” he told Luxe Life. In preparing for his
fourth new season of Beachers Madhouse at the Hard Rock starting July 8, he
sent out invitations for open-call auditions and over 500 dancers, novelty
acts, flair bartenders and hot cocktail waitresses turned up in just the first
hour!!!

Expecting another 1000 from all over the country, he divided
them into categories to also fill openings at his new Beachers Rockhouse
opening at the old Tequila Joe’s spot in Imperial
Palace and his new Fine theater
opening in the old Vivid nightclub space at The Venetian.
He explained: “We like to co-mingle our work. The Madhouse
is going to be insane this year as we’re filming it on July 22 and 29. Once
we’ve picked the cute, the sweet and the talented for that, we’re looking for
new and different Rockhouse and then also for our interactive theater at The
Venetian. We’re going to have different shows there such as National Lampoon, ‘80s
proms and 'Rocky Horror' -- it will be a lot of fun. The Rockhouse is a capture
of the best qualities of the Madhouse. All the craziness, the energy and the
vibe will all be condensed into a 2,000 square feet bar which will be open all
day and late night it will be the hottest spot with lots of celebrities and the
best looking girls in town. It’s a 20-hour version of the Madhouse because I
have to sleep sometime, but I will be there every night, tuxedo and all. We’ve
found some incredible talent. We’ve got great new juggling bartenders, new
little people – even a guy in a psychedelic costume and painted wheelchair who
can entertain. I love the weird. You give me something to where people say “what the hell is that” and I will be excited: a girl rolling around on broken
glass or a man setting himself on fire where he shouldn’t. We’ll have drag
queens and little people as security staff and that’s certain to make people
think twice. Every year we get thousands of people showing up to try out for
this. We’re opening the first week of August with Tiny Kiss (pictured) performing,
although their rivals, Mini Kiss, tried to put them out of business and failed.
Now the real Kiss has jumped into it. If they want to be the ones to sue a
group of handicapped little people, that is on their conscience, but we’ll
simply make Tiny Kiss in to Tiny Legends. I mean this is a spoof, a fun karaoke
singing group, so I don’t know why big Kiss is even bothered with lawyers and
threatening calls to make us cease and desist.“
His original Beachers Madhouse became the toughest ticket in
town at the Hard Rock attracting Hollywood celebrities
from Paris Hilton to Pete Rose. (Click here for our Luxe
Life videos for an All Access pass to Beachers Madhouse)
OATH OF SILENCE
Not only does actor Steve Schirripa not know if his brother-in-law,
Tony Soprano, will knock off his Bobby Bacala character, but he doesn’t even
know yet if he’ll be back for the 8 episodes of the final season of the HBO hit
show! “I’m hanging, waiting for news so don’t let this give them any ideas
about whacking me,” he laughed. “We’re due to start filming again this summer
and it’s not a good sign that I don’t know yet if I’m back!” The Vegas resident
and one-time entertainment director of the Riviera
was launching his third book “The Goomba Diet --Living Large andLoving It” at
the Penazzi Italian restaurant in Harrah’s hosting a highroller party. He gave
away $15,000 in winnings at the private event and signed autographed copies of
his book. His first national best seller “A Goomba’s Guide to Life” was
followed by ‘The Goomba’s Book of Love’. While back home in Vegas waiting word
on his possible new contract, he taped an episode of “Casino Cinema” for Spike
TV at the Riviera where president Robert Vannucci has just honored him
with a commemorative $5 chip with illustrations on both sides from his ‘Goomba’
diet book!
TONI DANCER

First work has begun on singer Toni Braxton’s new Vegas show coming this
summer. More than 200 professional dancers -- many traveling from New
York -- turned up for her open audition call for her
new Flamingo show ‘Revealed.’ Toni was searching for six male dancers and four female dancers to back her
up. Her new production means an end to her touring schedule for several years.
(Click here for the Luxe Life story where she talks about her
decision to live in Vegas as a fulltime working resident) The dancers agreed
that this was a dream come true and said that for a trained professional ballet
or jazz enthusiast, her music is so soulful and filled with emotion that it’s
the best to dance to.
COVER BOY
I was
honored to pop up on the cover of the newest issue of Nevada Business Journal’s
monthly magazine. Inside the fascinating magazine is an article by
writer Ruth Furman about luxury lifestyles in Nevada.
Now that’s something I’m fairly familiar with, right? I told the magazine I
honestly felt that Nevada -- be
it Vegas or Tahoe -- was #1 for luxury. The multi-million dollar homes, hot
expensive cars and over the top travel are common fare for high net worth
individuals in Nevada. In fact,
luxury life is rather common here. The article is a very sensible look at
“bigger, better homes, the yachts, sports cars and other toys of the rich and
not so famous.” Homes and condo apartments here routinely sell for $10 million
and up with some price tags approaching the $20 million mark!! My friend,
Laurence Halllier, developer of the Panorama
Towers says ”High net worth folks
and muilti-millionaires want the best in luxury and they are happy to pay for
it.” Two weeks ago when I shot the cover photo at Exotic Cars in Caesars
Palace, I told you about owner
Richard Weisman selling luxury and exotic cars with price tags well over the
$350,000 mark. The cover story reports that he’s now sold 7 of the Koenigsegg
$650,000 cars -- the second most expensive auto in the world. You can read all
about it at www.nbj.com or click here for the
direct link.
STRIP SCRIBBLES Best birthday wishes to Hugh Hefner’s
Kendra Wilkinson who celebrated her 21st birthday at the Palms with
the other two beauties in his tangled trio, Holly and Bridget -- all from
“Girls Next Door.” They visited N9NE, Rain and the Kingpin Suite with other
playmates in tow trailed by TV cameras. Other stars partying in town included actor Chris Tucker at Tangerine nightclub in Treasure
Island. Phoenix Suns NBA player Boris Diaw watched
their three-point scoring from another VIP
booth. Tennis champ Pete Sampras was a 1:45AM
visitor at Light’s VIP section in the
Bellagio. No sooner did he celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Beach Boys
debut record than mellow Mike Love flew to Vegas with his wife and dined at
Sushi Roku in the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace. Rapper Lil Jon was so friendly
to fans while partying at Tabu he woundup taking an hours worth of photos by
flash-fones. Late-night partiers at Pure lasting till almost 4AM were Travis Barker and football’s Jerome Bettis, but
lingerie model Caprice and DJ AM (separately) only made it until 3AM -- despite his party help from the Pussycat
Dolls. However, Floyd Mayweather hung out until the lights turned back on at
closing.
TONIGHT'S TIP

It takes 150 in
crew to get the 120 performers and 50 different animals under the “big top”
when the new Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s circus opens at the Orleans Arena for multi-shows through June 26. The
136th edition has changed the traditional three rings to one giant circle for a
story of a family’s journey through the circus experience plus dazzling
jumbo-tron video screens! The elephants, the clowns, the acrobats are all there
for the new adventures – and this key component of American entertainment
history is still for kids from 8 to 80!
TOMORROWS TEASE Its
all aboutbodies- gorgeous tanned muscled hero-hunks and curvy bikini-briefed
heroines cavorting in the new Palms pool that hotel tycoon George Maloof opens
this weekend – plus the bizarre preserved naked bodies of yesteryear in the
world’s most extraordinary and somewhat incredible Tropicana hotel exhibition
of “dead people”.
