Gold Coast, 2–5PM $10. DJ Manny's Dancelovers Club. Call for exact dates and locations. 577-5509. Fast Latin beat, some Ballroom. Couples and singles. Dressy attire. "Manny's music is the best we've ever heard," said International competitive dancers Jan and Jay Williams (pictured at right).

Gold Strike, in Jean, NV, off Route 15 going South toward Los Angeles. 1–5PM $10. DJ Larry Taylor. Good mix of Ballroom and Latin music. Casual. "It's the best bargain in this area," said regular attendee Robert Sahagian. "Bring a partner for a free 1 hour lesson preceding 3 hours of dancing, plus 2 free drinks, and door prizes worth $200."

Kiss Lounge, 2–5PM. $10–$20. Derek David and his 17-piece band. 317-7752. Near clock in Pavilion Shopping Center at 4750 W Sahara & Decatur. Buffet lunch and swing music for dancing while entertainers revive song and dance hits from the '40s. Couples, singles and groups. Dressy-casual attire. "It's fun to dance or, if you don't dance, it's worth attending just to see the spectacular show," said pianist Don Alexander.

Philippine/American Club, 6–9PM. Last Sunday of every month. Sun City residence, or invitation, required + $10 PAC membership for one year, no entrance fee. 255-5827. Desert Vista Recreation Center, 10360 Sun City Boulevard. A lot of Latin, some ballroom. Couples and singles. Dressy or neat-casual attire. Take your own snacks and soft drinks. "Anyone who loves social dancing is welcome to join us," said stylish dancers, Dr. Herme Labsan and Josie Labsan.

Presbyterian Church, 7–9PM. Donation. Contact Cheryl at 648-6616. 1515 W Charleston. Mixer for singles, preceded by a short lesson, to promote interdenominational Christian fellowship. Neat-casual attire. "Get to dance with about 50 guys or 50 gals in one evening. All ages—fairly evenly balanced—heaps of fun," said Mark, the organizer.

Skyline Hotel, 2–5PM. FREE. The Dummkopfs. 658-5933. 1741 N Boulder Highway. Lively favorites interspersed with Viennese Waltzes and Polkas. Casual or western attire. "Singles and a few couples, of all ages, go to dance, sing, drink and make friends at the bar. You can't fail to have a merry time with the Dummkopfs," said senior citizen, Josef Kase.

Texas Station, Armadillo Room, The Jerry Tiffe Combo. 4–7PM FREE. Ballroom. Latin except the Tango. Dressy or neat-casual attire. "Mostly retired, often widowed singles, and couples. So popular you must arrive by 3:15 PM to get a seat," said instructor, Oscar West.

Eagles Club, Friendly Mixers Dinner-Dance. 6–10PM $8. Second Saturday of every month. 642-1213. 1601 E Washington. Live music. Neat-casual attire. "A friendly, non-pressure evening with old and new friends. Very pleasant indeed," said Marty.

Larry's Hideaway, 8PM–2AM. FREE. 645-1899. 3369 Thom Boulevard, turn in on a short, minor road off Rancho, a block or so above Cheyenne. Live Country Western music. Neat-casual or, more popular, western attire. "Wear your hat and boots and, if you can't do the two-step when you arrive, you'll certainly be dancing it by the time you leave," said Gidget, the manager.

Las Vegas Senior Center, Dancing to Roy Coulter Big Band. 6:30–9:30PM. $3. No telephone. Just go. 451 E Bonanza Rd. "We all go there every Saturday. Great band," the regulars told me. Neat-casual.

P.J. McRae's, 9PM–3AM. FREE. Live music. 737-6212. Back from the road on Flamingo between Maryland and Spencer, on same side as Clark County Library. Neat-casual to elegant-casual attire. "Singles dance from the bar, couples enjoy sitting at tables near to the small intimate dance floor," said instructor Robert Judd.

Tuscany Casino Lounge, 9PM–1AM. FREE. 893-8933. Live music, fairly small floor. Mostly couples, some singles. Neat-casual attire. "Many locals like to hang out here and mingle with the tourists," said Monica, owner of MonicasDancewear.com.
