Mary Kaye

Vegas Community Online is thrilled to honor a legendary lady who started the "Lounge" scene in Las Vegas.

The Mary Kaye Trio has been called the greatest act to every play Las Vegas.  Now, in the present, Mary has not slowed down one inch, her energy level is amazing.  Future projects she has planned include concerts with her talented son, Jay Kaye, (a great singer and guitar player like his mom) who is very successful throughout Europe with his own, The Jay Kaye Band.  Mary also has humanitarian projects such as building a diabetic center and a full blown children’s hospital for families that cannot afford services.

The guitar and photo that possibly started it all! Guitarist Mary Kaye in her promotional ad campaign for Fender seen around the world. Taken prior to the filming of, and later used in the Columbia Picture "Cha Cha Cha Boom!, the Trio performed several songs with Mary playing the 'Strat' on film. Though she used the Strat for filming, she exclusively used  D'Angelico! during the years to follow. Fender actually took the guitar back during the filming never to be seen again by Mary. After The original Trio broke up in 1966, she did play a Fender Telecaster with the "New Mary Kaye Trio".  Fender delivered amplifiers on a consistent basis to Mary over the years. Mary's choice of guitar in 2001 was her Fender "White Beauty".

As a female guitarist, Mary Kaye was unique and so was the guitar that she played.

Mary states:

"As an proud American citizen, I feel that the only way to change things in America is to get out and vote.

So I encourage you to vote for the candidates with similar ideals and values as yourself.

It's a privilege as an American that you have, use it!"
