Residents from the Las Vegas valley are invited to put on their walking shoes and join Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman for a  “Movin’ and Groovin’ Walk” to good health, a community walk for the entire family. Other members of the City Council, including Ward 4 Councilman Larry Brown and other city officials, will also be in attendance. The walk, sponsored by the Department of Leisure Services, will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, at the Washington/Buffalo Park. This is an event for people from all ages, from children in strollers, to seniors and friends of the four-legged variety. There will be a one-mile fun walk and a two-mile fitness walk. Both walks will start from the same location at Cimarron and Washington.

The first 500 people will receive a free pedometer so they can track their steps anytime of the year.
