Downtown Office
Complex Named Building Of The Year
City-Operated Garage Included In Award
The City Centre Place building and garage,
located in downtown Las Vegas, won The Office Building of the Year
“TOBY” award for 2006. The award is for office buildings that are
between 100,000 and 249,000 square feet, and was presented by the
Building Owners and Managers Association International Foundation in
a statewide competition.
City Centre
Place is located at 400 S. Fourth St., and helps to link the
Regional Justice Center and the Lloyd George Federal Building in the
pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined Lewis Avenue Corridor.
The building
was a joint redevelopment project between the city of Las Vegas
Redevelopment Agency and the Pauls Corporation. The six-story office
building was constructed and originally owned by the Pauls
Corporation, and the general contractor for the building was Martin
Harris Construction.
The attached
three-story garage, that has 565 parking spaces, was a city of Las
Vegas Public Works Department project, constructed in conjunction
with the office building. Korte-Bellew and Associates was the
general contractor for the garage construction.
City Centre
Place opened in 2001 and was an immediate success achieving full
occupancy ahead of schedule. In November 2004, The Pauls Corporation
sold City Centre to Triple Net Properties, LLC and they are the
current owner and operator of the facility. The garage is operated
by the city of Las Vegas with public parking available on the ground
floor level.
Now in its 20th
year, the Building Owners and Managers Association International
Foundation awards recognize quality in office building construction
and award excellence in office building management. City Centre
Place will compete in Pacific Southwest regional competition in
January.
